Anonymous wrote:Not that you asked my opinion, but Barrette seems really feminine because it's the name of a girl's hair ornament. Syd, though, is ultra-masculine to me.

I'd say Zarah so the first syllable rhymed with car, not care.

Cyd Charise?

Sure, Cyd looks more feminine because of Cyd Charisse.. But Sydney/Sidney is traditionally masculine, so Syd/Sid is masculine to me.

BTW, Cyd Charisse was born Tula Ellice Finklea, and Sid (later Cyd) was a nickname from a brother or sister trying to say Sis.

I have a Brady and a Payton!

No other NFL fans out there finding this funny, besides me?

I find it terribly funny!

I have a girlfriend whose two girls are named Kennedy and Logan. What's that make you think of?

These were my 2 picks for the boy we are expecting. I'm pushing for Payton since it's a form of Patrick (DH's nam). My DH caught the NFL connection though and thought it was funny.

This is mom to Brady and Payton. I get that all the time. My husband got 1st names for boys and I did for girls. I had to talk him down from Cadillac and Quinn as first names. There is no way I wanted a Brady and a Quinn.

Lisa Marie Presley just named one of her twin daughers Harper.

I know, I was surprised and I'm hoping it doesn't become overly popular. My husband and I have liked the name Henry for about 8 years now and it seems that a lot of celebs are going for that name now. But, I still don't meet too many Henrys in day to day life.

Does anyone like the name Delilah? What about Paxton? Honest thoughts?

I have a friend with a one year old named Henry. At the time, I thought it was a very unusual name, but now I hear it all the time. I also grew up with a Harper and always thought that was a very cool name - she also had sisters named Tatum and Skyler - very hip names for the 70s!

One of the Dixie Chicks named her daughter Harper before Lisa Marie Presley.

I know a little girl named Harper.

I'm sure it will still be pretty far down on the SSA list in terms of popularity rank, but I don't think of it as very unique anymore.

Honest thoughts: Delilah has a pretty strong Biblical connotation (think Samson and Delilah), so make sure you like the stories before using. Lila is a less-charged possibility.

Don't like Paxton--seems made-up to me, and that's not my style.

I have a friend with two daughters two years apart named - you guessed it - Finley and Harper.

I LOVE the name Delilah but dont think the biblical story reflects well on her so I probably will never use it

Sigh ... I know ... I've loved the name Harper Lee since reading To Kill a Mockingbird years ago. Lee is my husband's middle name and my grandmother's maiden name so it holds even more meaning for me.

Please no more using Sophie or Sophia. It seems like every other little girl we meet lately has that name, or a sibling with that name.
