I would bet all the posters defending this guy are, well, guys. Would OP have asked one of his guy friends the same question? I highly doubt it. By even asking her this question, he reveals himself to be somewhat misogynistic. This has nothing to do with her being insecure. If she were insecure, she'd have gone along with this "joke" Kudos for her for calling him out. He needs to grow up or find someone who actually thinks his lame jokes are funny.
