High school elite swimmer here.
If I had seen this news, I would stop doing two a day practices. What’s the point? There’s no chance of winning. It’s not exactly surprisingly who gets the medal here. |
It’s really disheartening. I don’t understand the people who are ok with this. |
They are the ones who stand nothing to lose. And, of course, are gaining major street cred by toeing the party line. |
Thank you for posting. You have the support of many. Sport should be a level playing field. |
+1. And unfortunately, it's going to be up to people like you - other female athletes - to put a stop to this. |
Unfortunately, she’s just collateral damage. You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette, right? |
| And her teammates hate it and are miserable. The whole thing sounds awful for everyone. Except for the coach, who likes winning, more than anything else, and Lia, who likes winning, more than anything else. |
There is a picture of her with the other female swimmers from her college. Her size is immediately noticeable, from her height to her incredibly broad shoulders. It just doesn’t seem fair. |

In her own words:
“ I’m very proud of my times and my ability to keep swimming and continue competing and they’re suited up times and I’m happy with them and my coaches are happy with them,” Thomas said in the interview. “And that’s what matters to me.” Thomas said her teammates and coaches treat her “like any other member of the women’s team” and have been very supportive of her during transition. “I’m just thrilled to be able to continue to swim and I love to compete,” she said. “And I just love to see how fast I can go and it’s, sort of, an ongoing evolution of what I think I can go based on how my training progresses and evolves.” https://nypost.com/2021/12/09/penn-transgender-swimmer-lia-thomas-says-she-tunes-out-the-backlash/amp/ |

“ OutKick’s source said that after the 200 freestyle, Thomas could be overheard bragging.
“That was so easy, I was cruising,” Lia Thomas allegedly said. According to OutKick’s source, Thomas was unhappy with her time after the 500 race, but while standing in front of teammates, made sure to mention, “At least I’m still No. 1 in the country.” https://www.outkick.com/outkick-exclusive-second-female-penn-swimmer-steps-forward/ |
How can she feel good about winning given her biological advantage? It’s just gross. |
| They should put an asterisk next to her times. Utterly ridiculous. |
| Men stay winning as always - thanks feminists and liberals! |
Maybe all the born women should stop in protest. Truly. What is the point? You can’t beat a born man. |
If on the team, I’d be looking to transfer. |
