2022 DMV Girls Outlook

Potomac was awful last year and I don't see that changing. No senior leadership.

They actually do have some senior leaders. The bigger issue for POtomac is that the school just doesn't support sports, especially at a high level. Fact - they prohibited their kids who participate in travel sports from attending in-person, while still insisting on full tuition. Not a welcoming environment.

Wow, so the girls who play for Capital or Pride are not able to attend in-person school at Potomac? If so, that is crazy.

Is the school mascot symbol for Potomac the Snowflakes?

Didn’t affect Capital players except for one week in November. Only a small group of kids who were on teams that went to other parts of the country regularly - mostly soccer.

Last fall. Not this school year.

Try again - last school year Potomac had one of most most effective plans in place. They had in person school more regularly than most privates and far more than any public school.

Senior leadership does not always equate to succes on the field/court. Usually, talent has more of an impact. Potomac has an incoming frosh class that is pretty talented (number of Capital/Pride girls). Potomac will be much more competitive this year. In a year or two, they will give SSAS all they want. Potomac coach has program headed in right direction.

Leadership can come from underclassmen, also. Leaders are leaders. Leadership usually starts at the top, from the coach. Who do you want leading your daughter, developing her as a player and as a person? Going to bat for her and helping her through the recruitment process. Teaching her life lessons. Being a role model, etc.

Not that coach.

In a year or so, SSSAS won't have the same coach.

It looks like Tourney Machine finally reported a score. SR 16 Visi 10.

Has SSSAS even played either SR team yet?

SR will be the dominant team in the DMV.

While DD was playing, watched the score of the SSSAS vs SJC game on the next field. SJC held even until the last 5 minutes when SSSAS pulled away. SSSAS is not the dominant team they have been. SJC's 3 D1 middies are legit.

All of this talk about who is going to dominate who next year is just a waste of oxygen. For the past 2 decades it has always been "school X is going to dominate" Each year a new school is pre-crowned the next champ. As it stands SSSA has won 99% of the last 20 ISL championships. And Ireton and Visi have been great as well. PLease hold all comments until your team actually makes the final and wins it. Then crow all you want, until then it is just noise. preseason/indoor is just glorified practice. Go out and win a WCAC/ISL title, that will give you credibility.
