2022 DMV Girls Outlook

Don't expect as high national rankings but these rankings probably still true for the DMV. Bullis, HC, H Child have a few good players but not enough depth. SJC only lost 1 defender from last year. PVI can challenge GC in the WCAC. BI not as strong as year's past and HC stepping down to an Asst role

Is the St. James going to hold the indoor league and later the full-field games this winter/early spring?

St James is a rip off, $200 per player for 6 crappy games this winter season. I would stay away from it.

St. James provided a great place to play last winter where SR, Visi, Saints, BI, GC, STJC and others got to play against each other in the preseason, as well as the top Capital Club teams. Didn't seem like a rip-off to me. Great games and good HS competition. I imagine that the top area HS teams will also play there this winter. It is amazing to me to see people make comments on this site with no knowledge of what they are talking about.

I agree. St James indoor winter highschool league is fantastic - great facilities and competition. Well worth the cost and much better than schlepping to Baltimore.

I coached a team in it last year and it was great to get a high school team back on the field. $200??
I have a problem with when teams like mine come with 20 players and I play teams with 13/14 players.
It should be a team fee.

Grown parents talking about Highschool rankings is sus

Regardless of the quality of the teams in st james the sheer cost of $200 for just 6 games is way high for some people who can’t afford it.

Cost is due to quality of venue. Top quality fields, sii ooooh evratir spaces, and amenities. Doesn’t smell like sweaty gym socks and has sufficient parking.

If it’s too $$$ for your parent-body, have your daughter and her friends hold a fundraiser for their fees. Lots of schools do that for various lacrosse events. A corn hole tournament, leaf raking, car wash, getting folks to agree to pay $10 for every goal, babysitting co-op on Friday nights that girls staff, or something else - there are many great ideas out there.

Doesn’t smell like sweaty gym socks?!?! Yeah it does. It smells as gross as any other sports venue in there.

The St James is one of, if not the premier indoor sports facility. We are lucky to have it in this area. If you can name a nicer facility - let me know. The other facilities in the area (Rockville, Wheaton, Dulles) are just as expensive and dumps in comparison

Anonymous wrote:GC graduated a lot but still their leading scorer and some starting attackers and defenders and have 2 stud 24 midfielders that technically didn't start but were key contributors with 1 being arguably their best player.

PVI graduated their best overall player and their goalie, as well as a few other starters. 23s are decent (most are on Pride Black) and definitely have talent but struggled vs tough competition last year. They were up 2 players on GC for an extended period of time in the 2nd half of that game and GC actually extended their lead.

BI will be an interesting case as they too graduated all of 3 their goalies and their best overall player and a few key attackers on top of now having new coach. They have some young talent but not sure on depth?

SJC graduated only 1 senior but just don't have any real depth.

HC just continues to tumble, which is unfortunate.

WCAC should still be GC then BI and PVI.

SJC is on the rise. They only lost 1 player from last year

Haha I feel it about any highschool rankings boys or girls. Talking 'anonymously' on a forum putting down other schools is the most childish thing I've ever seen.
