This Is Us final season

In S1 or S2 there was a whole story line with Kate around gastric bypass. The drama was that Rebecca said she shouldn’t get it because of the potential risks, I think. So hasn’t that “elephant in the room” been addressed? I would think she may be too heavy atm for surgery anyway. Speaking from experience.

I think Chrissy Metz also said in interviews from the start of the series that she wouldn't consider it.

+1 We can’t have a plot line that revolves around Kate losing weight of the actress is not going to lose any weight. It’s not like Chrissy Metz can put on a thin suit like Renee Zellweger’s fat suit. Let it go, people.

Regarding the flashbacks of Jack (Milo). Do you think he was that perfect of a husband/father or they just want to remember him that way?

I thought it was the best evidence that Beth is way underemployed as an actor.

He’s going to die of a heart attack soon.

Agree. That's why he's not at the deathbed scene, and Rebecca will lose both husbands.

DP. He is at the deathbed scene. He's right there in the bedroom with Rebecca.

That’s Nick sitting next to her bed.

You are right! My mistake.

I think he had many great moments but I think they have created a narrative that he was perfect. We know he was not and that he had many bad moments, but he has achieved saint status and all the wrongs are forgotten (like when Jack falls asleep at the movies and loses Kevin).

I think this happens a lot when someone dies young. Their transgressions or moments of being human are forgotten and they are remembered as flawless. Which makes living up to their memory impossible.

I think making Madison have a baby was intentional to stop people routing for them to divorce. I agree that I don't particularly love Elijah and find the pairing odd, but I would be much more interested in her divorcing and ending up with Kevin except I think having a baby with Elijah would make that less appealing to me.

As much as I want that fairy tale end, I don't think it can be Madison any more.

+1. Also, he was an alcoholic who had cut off his brother and barely acknowledged his mother. I don't think we ever saw him at AA, let alone individual therapy. I think he did his best, which was pretty good, but it's hard to believe there weren't some dysfunctions that got passed along. It seems evident that he overcompensated with his big gestures which kind of messed up Kevin and Kate. Kevin is searching for something unrealistic; Kate thinks no man can measure up. Randall probably did better because he always identified with and was closer to Rebecca.

Can we hope that Kevin realizes he loves her, pines for her for years but keeps his feelings to himself out of respect for their marriage? Then Elijah gets hit by a bus, Kevin helps Madison cope with her grief but ends up confiding his love and Madison can't hold back the feelings for Kevin that she's tried for years to convince herself didn't exist? Can we hope for that??? Pretty please?

No sorry, madison will also be on the bus so Sophie will be able to help raise Kevin’s children with him.

I can get behind hoping for that. If there were more time left, I could get behind Elijah actually being a jerk who lies and cheats, insider trades, runs off to find himself in Honduras. But that would set Madison into a "see I pick the wrong me all the time. I am worthless" spiral that I am not down for. So Elijah being hit by a bus and then Kevin helping her is good. And mirrors what happened with Miguel, which I am down for.

Also I think the kids being missing from the wedding is weird but I also imagine that the real actor either had a tantrum or a conflict and they said "whatever" and filmed without him. That is the only thing that makes sense

I'm not getting the Elijah-hate. Madison is clearly so happy and in love with him - it's not going to be Madison/Kevin. It's going to be Sophie. The stupidest thing was bringing in the random wedding singer as a possible third choice. Seriously??

I don't understand how they're going to tie all of this up in just a few more episodes. We still haven't seen how Rebecca and Miguel reconnect and start dating.

I don’t get why they keep showing how comfortable Madison and Kevin are together AND she’s very in tuned to his feelings, thoughts, etc. Possible mis-direction or show they really are the ones for each other.

The other problem with this show,is how great all the ex’s are with each other. “Let me teach you American football”, all the advice Kevin gave to Elijah. Etc. Very seldom happens.
