US has no good options in Ukraine

Not really. It seems clear that there are people in the Russian government who don't like what Putin is doing - where do you think our great intelligence is coming from? So it's wise to keep the lines of communication open.

This administration cares about elections.

This is the perfect time to sanction Russian oG

8 dollar gasoline would be good in the long run for the us

More people would buy ev’s

More people would walk and cycle and lose weight

Win win

It would cause a red tsunami

So what? There’s right and wrong and Ukrainians are dying right now. I’m growing to hate this administration. And why not sanction Putin directly. The f*cling monster has 200 billion and we’re scared to hurt him? Why??!

This! This! This!

I’m so bitterly disappointed in Biden and his administration on this front. No, navigating Russia and Putin isn’t easy, especially as Trump and the GOP spent the last four years bolstering Russia through talk and actions. But good grief, can we not get one thing right? Russia has attacked a democracy, is killing civilians, holding Chernobyl hostage, and - mark my words - will not stop with just Ukraine. And we can’t seem to bring ourselves to use sanctions against Putin?!?

Better yet ship him off to Ukraine so he can be the go-between. Best idea I've heard all day, but he must agree to get out of the helicopter at the Polish border, of course, leave the SS detail behind, the people love him, what does he need protection for?

Melania must wear her snazzy "I don't really care! Do you?" jacket, she speaks the language, right? In fact, she speaks 6 or 7 languages. She's like a One-woman Marching Band Diplomatic Rockstar Envoy. And she hates Dis Christmas, so ice clearly runs through her veins, good for negotiations.

Jared brought peace in the Middle East and ended world hunger in a month, time is of the essence, so he needs to leave like yesterday, get him on the advance team.

Ivanka will need something to do too. I heard she keeps the Ivanka fashion line of headscarves in mothballs in a warehouse in Crystal City, does anyone have a truck and a few pallets she can borrow, she'll need to come bearing gifts. The hearts and minds of the Babushka Grannies must be won.

Donald can't hold his cocaine, but maybe he's better with Vodka, if not Tiffany can give him tips, they will definitely need to attend so that they can lead up the social committee.

Sadly, I have a bad feeling poor Eric has turned states witness and will not be allowed to leave the country, but hey someone's gotta keep the home fires burning.

Not sure what Trump is going to do after he shows up, but that's nothing new, let him hang out in the hotel, give him some pampushkys and a remote control. That ought to keep him busy while this all gets worked out!

This quote below from Zelensky to the Ukrainian people is so heartbreaking. Shame on the west, shame on Trump and the GOP (why do you love Putin more than Democracy), and shame on Biden for not being more authoritative at this critical time.

“This morning, we are defending our country all alone,” Mr. Zelensky said Friday, wearing a military sweatshirt. “The most powerful nations of the world are just watching from afar. Only solidarity and decisiveness by Ukrainians will be able to preserve our freedom and our state.”

And for those who say, who cares about Ukraine. What does that have to do with us in the States. Remember who Putin is and what he’s after. He’s after the end of Democracy and the demise of the US. It will be at your doorstep one way or another unless he is stopped now.

Despite that being untrue, it illustrates exactly why we can’t admit millions of Ukrainian refugees here. Their anger at Democrats would forever disrupt our elections because they’d be voting anti-Democracy the very first opportunity they got, for life. It would be like adding millions of new republicans as soon as they got their naturalized citizenship status.

By that logic, no country can admit Ukranian refugees.

I don’t care about “most countries” internal politics. I care about THIS country’s internal politics. And importing millions of Ukrainian refugees who will start voting against Dems the very instant they’re eligible to is a formula that will ensure that Democrats will be out of power for a long time. Let the Ukrainians fight for their country, IN their country. Don’t allow them to flee here, then blame us for allowing it to happen.

You are a nut, pp.
Is this why you are for unabated illegal immigration on our southern border? Grant amnesty to the masses and presto! you have millions of new Democratic voters. Right?

Why doesn’t western intelligence place hits on oligarch families abroad to get them to turn on Putin internally?

That’s going to be front page news.
The CIA usually makes those sorts of statements very publicly.
Also: the criminal oligarchs are really easy to target. They don’t have the resources to hide and well paid security to protect themselves.

Dp- no. We’ve used intelligence against them at every point and it’s been effective. Putin had planned to fake all sorts of reasons to garner support at home for this invasion. He’s left with nothing, and Russians are in the streets protesting against this.

We had their entire battle plan for the past couple of weeks and our intel folks communicated exactly how it was going to play out

Then why didn’t we do anything to stop it?

Spare a thought or prayer for the 3+ million people huddled in Kyiv tonight. Russia is throwing everything they've got at them - Putin has become impatient.
