DA vs ECNL vs everything else

Is there a reason why Coach Cory is not allowed around older girls? No more out of town trips for him.

Because he wears Capri pants with the FCV logo...clear violation of man code.

Boy's ECNL certainly has good clubs participating. The point is that the talent gap between BDA and BECNL is likely to be much greater than GDA and GECNL. So if I'm PDA and I'm looking at options, I might see a better one on the girls side than I do on the boys side right now.

There is absolutely no comparison between the boys DA & ECNL. None. It's not even close.

If you are a boy in DC area (Virginia) 05/06 and don't make the cut for DA but were invited back to many ID sessions, what teams would you look at?

BRYC ECNL.

Why, because every age group prior to that already left?

This has been discussed before. DA vs ECNL will be decided by the younger teams once DA and ECNL options are clear. That will start next spring.

Don't worry FCV Dad, your DD will be in 8th grade and have a D1 offer by then. Until then hope your DD likes playing for Gordon Gekko.

Lol..not an FCV dad. I'm not saying ECNL sucks. My kid played ECNL. I'm saying Loudoun has and always will continue to lose their kids..unless ECNL, nationwide, is determined to be the top league. As far as NOVA, ECNL is 2nd tier 04 and below

I agree for 04 and 05. Probably for 06 but less so. The rest is up in the air especially with the way USSF is fumbling DA. DA had ECNL by the throat 3 months ago, now they are reeling a bit. You are gonna believe what you want and you are now invested in DA so I get it. But the press recently has not been good for DA.

Now what might be "telling" is if there is some sort of backlash from the GDA girls/families in all 3 clubs. If, as reported here by PP, this was just a money grab and not for the stated reasons, this would be occurring.

That may depend on how many families believe PDA is the only "real" place to take their kids to play. People often forget that all youth clubs are a means and not an end. I'm not saying PDA is good or bad, but what I am saying is if you think you have to be at PDA and follow where they lead, you stay. If you believe the DA is a better platform because of year round programming, you may look for something else. If you believe DA is the best, but are afraid to try something else, you may stay even if you are unhappy with the decision. There are so many factors that go into player club decisions, that it's hard to predict what players will do - or why. As this very discussion board reflects.

That said, I have noted that Cedar Stars is 45 minutes away. They did beat FCV recently in some of the age groups, which I find interesting.

Your club has more skeletons than any other club. By far. Enough to go under if the public knew about several of them. Certainly enough to lose their DA license. You know it and I know it. So STFU.

I don't know how you can tell where the cross over is. FCV 04GDA is probably stronger than both local ENCL clubs. Both Spirit and VDA 04's are not. I've seen them all play. In the fall, we will have to see where the 05's shake out.

They lost 3 big dual ECNL -DA clubs but ECNL lost like 30 of the best clubs in the nation. You want to talk net gains?

The propaganda is ridiculous. They claim they are dropping out of GDA because of restrictions in development (sub rule, playing time) yet they keep their boys in BDA with the same restrictions. You see the hypocrisy?

PDA - ECNL board member
HAWKS - ECNL board member
VDA - ECNL board member

And BTW - PDA and the rest never played their bottom half anyways when they were ECNL.

VDA 04s just beat your beloved PDA 04s

Why? Cedar stars beat PDA and a lot more. They are a really good club. PDA is a big brand name. They don't have all the talent in Northern jersey.
PDA is on par with its competition on average. You are giving them too much credit.

Spirit 16/17s beat a star studded FCV team that is their clubs hallmark team. Are you surprised by that? I was..but probabley shouldn't have been.

Point being..dont judge a club..good or bad...on past reputation or a single age group.

By interesting, I meant it as a compliment. I didn't know Cedar because as they weren't in the ECNL, we never played them. But now we have. So I am in fact suggesting - with compliments - that perhaps some PDA players may move over to Cedar Stars.

Please people, do not assume the most malignant interpretation possible for every post. Assume the best, and you will get a return on it.

You have no clue what you are talking about.

FCV 04 would destroy McLean and BRYC 04 ECNL.
VDA and Spirit would also beat both.

If you want to wait to see where the 05s shake out thats fine. But you'll be late to the table. People have told you many times where the talent is going. You just don't want to accept it.

My bad.

I agree.
