But in Northern Virginia, which is the ECNL talent base for the MA division, younger kids are choosing DA over ECNL. Mclean ECNL is losing players at younger age groups. LOUDOUN ECNL has no talent base left.

On another note...PDA is full of BS. They should drop boys DA if they truly believe in what they are saying. But they don't and they won't. So what does that tell you...and don't arguing that girls are different and want different things...BS.

I am definitely seeing something else. I have been attending the DA ID sessions. I do not see a large number of younger players from ECNL. Some - yes. But to say younger kids are choosing DA over ECNL is really reaching. I also am not seeing the best talent from Loudoun and other program attend these sessions. I think it is too early to tell. I do not think we will all know until rosters are set.

The way you mention Loudoun has no talent base left...well that makes your agenda clear. You are a DA parent (probably the FCV jerk) out to misinform people. Here is why I say that - there is no way you know. You do not know what Loudoun is doing, it is too early to tell. DA and ECNL Rosters are not set or announced. So to say no talent base left is pure BS.

Before you lash out to get the last word - we still do not know where we will be playing and are still on the fence between DA and ECNL. Your posts like this do not help anyone. Ok - feel free to bash now like a little baby, I could not care less.

Not PP, I think we can agree that while we don't know what Loudoun is doing yet; there is info about talent that Loudoun definitely won't have access to anymore (someone seems to be confident of that info), why can't that be used as info to infer the state of Loudoun's base of players?

It is pure BS. Back it up with numbers. How many of their player are attending FCV and WS ID sessions? Not many, I am talking maybe two or three. It’s BS but the DA PP won’t back his BS with any facts.

FCV ID sessions have been over for a month now. Loudoun Red and FCV teams had trained together regularly during the fall season so FCV already knew the players. Loudoun players did go to the early DA ID sessions before ECNL was announced and the players were then discouraged but the players were already know, registered and made offers to.

Facts

LOL. So what? Loudoun kids have offers from other clubs. Woohoo. Too early to tell. Sounds more like they showed interested before Loudoun ECNL announced.

You are obviously a Loudoun ECNL supporter. I'm interested in your opinion. Have you been to a Loudoun ECNL ID session? If so, tell us if top Loudoun Red kids at the 04-06 groups are attending.

They did show up to the Loudoun ECNL ID session. But then coach Gus pulled up in the FCV bus in the parking lot. There were words on the side of the bus that said "Soccer the Brazilian Way". Christian stepped out with a duffle bag full of cash and said he would them how the big clubs play. The players and parents all got on the bus and left. Loudoun ECNL then had no base of talent left.

Lmfao...was Rea Ann allowed to get on the bus?

Dan Raben stopped her. She has to stay behind to coach the 07 Red team and try to convince them to stay. I am not a Loudoun ECNL supporter. But I know both clubs well. Will be interesting over the next few years.

Actually the players like her. And the Red parents like her too. That's why she is keeping the team for another year. The 07s will be a battleground and probably the first group of pure DA vs ECNL.

If boys ECNL was a bit stronger and more entrenched, I would agree with you. But that's not the case. On the girls side, there is a competitive option, so they're taking it. On the boys side, not so much.

Is that why PDA will field two ECNL teams?

This is about big clubs who can call their shots and they simply scored a sweetheart money deal with ECNL.

Well first off, it's not clear to me that PDA will field two ECNL clubs. If you know this for a fact, please enlighten.
Secondly, running a club is running a business. No club can afford to be so altruistic that they ignore the bottom line. Further, most of these clubs, including PDA, are 501c3 organizations that must balance their bottom lines. That can be achieved by inflating salaries of course. If I'm not mistaken, their financials are publicly available to check. Are PDA coaches/TD's making a boatload of money? I doubt it.

PDA told the families of the current ECNL teams that they didn't have to worry about losing their spots with the GDA girls coming back. They told the families they would be having 2 ECNL teams. That much I know. I've heard that Michigan Hawks did too. So it is reasonable to assume that FC Stars will also follow suit.

It is also very telling that the ECNL girls needed to be reassured that they would not lose spots to returning GDA girls and not the other way around.

The GDA girls were also told there would be 2 teams. It's not "telling" that all the players in the same age group were told essentially the same thing, that there would be room for everyone. They were all given the same message so that no one would leave to another club.

What is the incentive to play on the "second ECNL team"?

What is the incentive to play on the "top ECNL team" if both are viewed the same?

Players and parents will find that the dynamic is poorly thought out.

Boy's ECNL certainly has good clubs participating. The point is that the talent gap between BDA and BECNL is likely to be much greater than GDA and GECNL. So if I'm PDA and I'm looking at options, I might see a better one on the girls side than I do on the boys side right now.

There is absolutely no comparison between the boys DA & ECNL. None. It's not even close.

If you are a boy in DC area (Virginia) 05/06 and don't make the cut for DA but were invited back to many ID sessions, what teams would you look at?

She is a spring chicken compared to Gus. How about coach Dave? Think about it - FCV has the market almost cornered on old coaches.

The 07 group will be the battleground? LMFAO

Why, because every age group prior to that already left?

Now what might be "telling" is if there is some sort of backlash from the GDA girls/families in all 3 clubs. If, as reported here by PP, this was just a money grab and not for the stated reasons, this would be occurring.

There is a reason why Rea Ann is allowed to coach young kids only.

Older kids and parents would check her.

This has been discussed before. DA vs ECNL will be decided by the younger teams once DA and ECNL options are clear. That will start next spring.

Don't worry FCV Dad, your DD will be in 8th grade and have a D1 offer by then. Until then hope your DD likes playing for Gordon Gekko.

Is there a reason why Coach Cory is not allowed around older girls? No more out of town trips for him.

Lol..not an FCV dad. I'm not saying ECNL sucks. My kid played ECNL. I'm saying Loudoun has and always will continue to lose their kids..unless ECNL, nationwide, is determined to be the top league. As far as NOVA, ECNL is 2nd tier 04 and below
