Someone posted up thread that the firefighters found $40k in the package.

So what did the perps get away with? The rolex and nothing else?

I thought news outlets have said there was money missing from the safe in the home. I just can't imagine all this death for such little money. Absolutely heartbreaking and sickening.

$40k is not little money. If the perps are from South or Central America, they could live comfortably.

This is just too much, too awful, too sad. Too hard to even consider. That poor child. I just can't even comprehend.

I am sobbing reading this. I have a six year old--I feel so sick about this. He was only 10 years old. This is so vile and incomprehensible. I just can't imagine what kind of piece of garbage is capable of doing something like this to other adults let alone a child.

As bad as the released information was before these latest reports, this is worse. Whoever did this is - there are no words. I pray the perpetrators are caught quickly, and that they suffer intensely and endlessly.

Then get ready to be disapointed. They will be caught and will spend the rest of their lives in jail fed, clothed and given a TV and gym by the tax payer. I wouldn't count on intense or endless suffering - not in the DC justice system.

I really don't want to get into a death penalty discussion but I am very tired of hearing people pretend prison is such a nice place. It truly isn't. Criminals are not living large in prison. It really isn't a nice place to live.

They would have to divide it up and then pay tons of money to get to Central America because they can't easily exit the country if they are suspected of this horrific crime.

And don't tell me to not read the thread if I don't want to see it.

I am not reading your inane, ignorant musings, but I can see that this thread is up to 107 pages.

That is disgusting.

Move along, this family deserves more respect than a bunch of people judging them, oggling salacious tidbits about their life and death.

Just stop.

I agree that sort of judging/salaciousness was happening earlier. But now it seems more like people just trying to figure out what happened. But no, you shouldn't read it. Some of the details released in the news are very upsetting.

They tortured the little boy in front of the parents and housekeeper so they could get what they wanted (and if they didn't take the cash what did they want?) Doused the adults with gasoline and lit the little boy on fire and they had to see that till the flames reached their gas to light them on fire. I just don't understand this..

I just want to say about the pizza...If that is true, that seems beyond belief they would take that risk unless someone was involved who works at the home and could receive the pizza. I don't think the deceased maid was in on it. I have suspicions about the second maid, but I don't think she would have been present at the crime scene (if she even is involved) so how is this even possible?

The second maid could have very well been at the scene-the texts she got to stay away were simply that-who knows where she was. They need to really look at her and her friends/realtives very closely. Also,I wonder if her other employers, like the one in Mcclean where she claims to have been may have some clues-also wonder if they will keep her on as a maid-I certainly would not even if she is innocent.

You just brought up a good point. Who would say "stay away". That's a strange use of the word.

The maid says that she was working at another job Thursday morning cuz she heard the voice mail telling her not to come to work Thursday. She also said she didn't get that voicemail until Thursday morning. Isn't it strange that she got another job arranged so quickly?

Who would know they are suspected of this crime?

No because she probably has a couple of clients.

Now I think it was strangers. The police reports of people knocking on doors and the vacuum cleaner salesman, and the fact that Mr. S was not there when they got there. Things seem to have been so unplanned and disorganized. It seems like some drug-addled ex-con group that just thought hey let's rob a rich house and then things just went horribly wrong. So unspeakable.

It seems like they thought that if they gave the attackers what they wanted, it would stop, which is so heartbreaking. Obviously any parent would give any amount of money to make it stop. That's what makes it seem personal, but I just can't imagine that a personal attack would not have been planned better.

And if anyone ever breaks into my house, I plan to fight like they are going to kill me from the beginning--do not get tied up without a fight, yell into the phone for help, whatever it takes, assuming all along that you are not getting out of it alive and might as well fight.

I've only read here that the firefighters found the money. I don't think that's true. It hasn't been verified by anyone.

No one is judging the family. They are the victims.

What? This makes no sense. If they get away they cross the border and proceed south. It won't cost much. It doesn't matter if they are suspected or not - nobody is chekcing their papers at the borders. Get real.

We don't know what time she was scheduled to go in. Lots of cleaners do back to back jobs. I first found it strange that she was told not to come in even though she was scheduled to clean the martial arts place but it's likely she just met the dad at the house and he drove her there. Even so, he left the martial arts place before her on Wednesday so she presumably had her own transportation. Either she is involved OR they were trying to send her clues by giving her conflicting information and she just didn't get it.

This link shows the clearest images of the person of interest in the video. He clearly looks like a black male to me here & I can finally make out that bucket y'all have been referring to. A BUCKET...WTF? I'm certain police most definitely have more (and clearer) videos of this POI from other area businesses since someone carrying a damn bucket is pretty recognizable. Why haven't they released any other videos? Because they have received them since releasing the original one and they now know who this suspect is and they are simply locking in all the details before they formally indict as to not mess up their case. If the police truly had no further clues for this POI & were stuck, they would absolutely be appealing to the public regularly for more leads. That's not the case though. They remain tight lipped, giving no new information, playing it cool, & PC Lanier spoke confidently of their progress.
