But DCUM will insist forever that Pet Rock was her one true love and Domhnall Gleeson is just someone she settled for

So, just saw Charli XCX' movie "The Moment."

Anybody else see it?

Did you think it was slamming Taylor? Opinions in my family differ.

Whatever. Her mom made good use of a marketing tool. You can be a tool too and join in!

She was just on SmartLess talking about this movie. It’s supposed to be a mockumentary of her (Charlie’s) tour.

Love doesn’t work like that, and especially not for hopeless romantics like Taylor. I don’t buy that she is healed and happy. This new album is evidence of it. It’s boppy on the surface but actually quite bitter.

Travis is obviously a rebound relationship but sometimes you gotta love the one you’re with.

Every time I hear about their prospective wedding, I think to myself, “Don’t marry Svetlana.”

Wilth some pointed digs at taylor. When she is being pitched tour ideas, she rejects some as cheesy and the rejected ideas and dances resemble the eras tour.

Lol

Pitchfork is for music lovers so it's no wonder you don't know about it.

But I do have one Taylor nit, and that is I wish she would spekaup. She is a billionaire with nothing to lose, and she seems so insulated right now not telling Trump and the WH to eff off using her music.

Like, didn't she used to be politically involved?

Maybe I am wrong, but this seems like a legit critique?

In Miss Americana, she wanted to be on the right side of history.

Now? She does mot care.

It is all a show.

I don't understand why she doesn't speak up. She doesn't care about the country. Why should she. Absorbed into her brand. But at least peer pressure should make her speak up cause she is losing fans and industry respect for her silence

Please. You’d all be all over her the minute she said something political you didn’t 100% agree with.

The likely reason she spoke up in Miss Americana was because she was in love with and chasing after Matty Healy at that time. The 1975 are very politically vocal, and Taylor was probably hoping to impress him and shatter her image of a PR-controlled bore. Love has a way of making us brave like that.

IMO, it would have been better to stay apolitical, but she wanted to come out and make sure to clarify she held the "correct" opinions. But then, she didn't move the needle much in the elections and realized it's better to go back to neutral. It would be pointless to react to Trump every time and start an escalating tit-for-tat. Everyone keeps thinking "this will be the thing that will finally make her say something" but I hope she doesn't.

NP. It’s so awkward to break it to you like this, but you already posted this same thing earlier in the thread 😬

She is an excellent entertainer but boring and predictable irl. Charlie xcx was right on the money when she called her “a boring Barbie”, which is why it stung Taylor so much. There is a reason why she ended up with a doofus: none of the cool men wanted her. Keeping her silence now and playing by the rules tracks with this.
Ps. She did move the needle back then. Tens of thousands of young voters registered and voted because Taylor urged them to.
