What court? I don't see any Cafferky here, but I do see he's from the expensive firm FCPS uses regularly: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/circuitcourtdocket/

$$$$$$$, but perhaps the cost analysis has been the cost of the appeals and taking this injunction forward v cost of defending what would have been multiple lawsuits from the Hayfield player families and others if FCPS had not taken this approach.

They have no case, no standing and can't afford lawsuits against fcps or vhsl.

Looks like someone is currently adding that to the system. Appears to be a bunch of players (initials for the minors) and parents. NOT FCPS, as initially reported.

It is being updated in real time as while I was looking at it more names added but all rep by same counsel that FCPS typically uses. If FCPS not paying for it, maybe this can solve where the $10,000 or $29,000 or whatever it was in collected booster money went.

FCPS has plenty of money. They can afford it.

Hayfield may not get into the playoffs, but they are about to sue the pants off the VHSL for this one.

If Hayfield wins I hope the VHSL expels FCPS schools in their entirety from VHSL-sponsored competition. Let pathetic Michelle Reid fully own the consequences of her incompetence.

VHSL had 3 chances to stand down. They didn’t. They feel confident in their evidence.

But we are seeing now it is the parents and families bringing this one. They believe they do have the case and standing and clearly have high priced lawyer.

Completely livid that money for education is being used to pay for this case.

We don't have proof our tax dollars are going to fund this lawsuit. It really could be the families banking on winning damages to cover costs. Or somebody in that group could be really rich.

It is FCPS go-to law firm. Who do you think is paying for it?

I'm sure a local news organization will find out if FCPS is behind this. Probably the only reason we haven't seen news articles yet is that no one knows anything for certain except the plaintiffs.

Yeah, would like the papers to say how many families are part of suit and if just the kids from Freedom that filed.

Came here to say this. There are 6 sealed injunctions with no party and a couple under the board of supervisors. But my money is on rumor at this point because it's so shoot-yourself-in-the-foot.

I’m hoping a reliable source that covers prep sports like Fox 5’s Chad Ricardo or the Post’s Michael Errigo will dig into this today.

Chad Ricardo! Hilarious. He never reported the truth about hayfield. We’re not talking about quality journalism there.

You can infer that from looking at the parents names, and it appears students who were at Hayfield before this year are part of it as well as students who are transfers.

Fairfax Times has an article on the lawsuit and has looked at some court documents: https://www.fairfaxtimes.com/hayfield-football-parents-sue-to-keep-playoff-hopes-alive/article_23b86022-a2a4-11ef-9611-6747eb1dd0ff.html

Good luck Hayfield!

People are BIG mad, and their horns are def starting to show, lol

I guess folks thought Hayfield and FCPS was supposed to just lay down and not fight, I don’t have a dog in the fight either way, but this is def looking more like a business than about the kids. I hope it all works out.
