That said, I think Kevin ends up alone. He’s wearing the ring because Rebecca thinks he is Jack.

But maybe Elijah and Madison divorce?

Someone explain to me why Kevin needs the ring for Rebecca to think he’s Jack. Rebecca thought he was Jack in this episode and he wasn’t wearing a ring.

I think some of you are too hung up un Kevin ending up unmarried.

Kevin did say his children would be his love.

Yes!! And this resonated with me, too.

Agree! Plus the last few years she wouldn’t know or be able to say anything.

Maybe he is just wearing it for her last day.

Ah, yes. Let's spin out this totally dumb idea to its idiotic conclusion. Keep going, what's next?

Well said! This is the glaring problem that is never to be spoken about and I'm sick of it. I would have had so much more respect for the writers (and the actress) if they had shown her going on a gastric bypass journey. She's a beautiful woman, but is morbidly obese and there's no sugarcoating that. As the mother of two young children, her health and safety should be foremost. In real life, doctors AND family members would be pleading with her to have the surgery. At that weight, diet and exercise aren't going to touch the issue.

Have you all watched the whole show? There has been TONS of storyline on this. It was Kate’s entire plot for like two years. She and Toby met at a meeting for people with disordered eating.

Yes - they've focused on her diet and did a little here and there about exercise. I'm saying, none of that will touch an obese person's weight. She needs gastric bypass surgery.

agreed. Its a major issue that has been droppped since the first season when she met Toby in Weight Watchers. If he is eating healthier and working out, why isn't she. I also thinks its unrelastic that the british music guy is attracted to her. She can barely move.

Her walks to the park while singing- totally unrealistic. She'd be out ofrom the exertion of both. They don't do a good job showing how truly morbidly obese people live.

+1
In the episode where they can't find Jack, she was "racing" through the house, searching for him. In reality, she was sort of walking somewhat fast from room to room. It is truly painful to watch.

I even saw a headline about how Mandy Moore threw up when she saw what was going to happen in the final scripts. Gee, sound great. Sign me up.

Oh, please let this be the juicy train wreck you are teasing us with! Because I'm mostly hate watching, at this point.

Rebecca dies surrounded by her family with Randall and Kevin holding her hands. At the same moment, Baby Hope is born. Cue “And When I Die” by Blood, Sweat and Tears

And when I die and when I'm gone,
There'll be one child born and a world to carry on, to carry on

She threw up because it was gut wrenching and a emotionally exhausting, not because she hates the show. Why are you even on this board?

I KNOW THAT. It’s just, why are you signing up for gut wrenching and emotionally exhausting? Every week?

As for me, I watched the show for a couple years until it became too ridiculous and too relentlessly depressing. However, I do low key want to know how it ends because I need to know what could be so upsetting it would make someone throw up. So I occasionally read what happened on message boards. And not gonna lie, now I find parts of this hilarious. I mean, Philip’s ex-wife was blind, infertile and then killed by a drunk driver? Like 5 minutes after ending their marriage? I mean, how do you not burst out laughing when you deliver that? The show is like a parody at this point.

DP. OMG, I completely forgot that she was BLIND, too! I'm the PP who said they really didn't need to write her story as having been hit by a drunk driver as she leaves him due to IVF issues. But she was also blind!!! JFC, the writers are going so overboard.

Something really bad must happen because she already knew her character was going to die of Alzheimers.

Maybe its like that scene in the Naked Gun where the guy plummets to his death, gets run over by a truck, a steamroller, and then trod on by a marching band.

Kate’s son Jack’s first child.

Is she only allowed to have a storyline insofar as it is about her fatness? Would that be more interesting to you? Or is she just supposed to fade into the background and be The Fat Sibling with No Story Any Longer?

I get that you want her to lose weight by any means, but that's not happening. So in a narrative sense, what do you do with her character?

We've already said what we want her story to be. She has gastric bypass and loses a tremendous amount of weight in order to be healthy and present for many years for her children. Sorry you're so against that and would prefer to see a painfully and morbidly obese woman struggle to get around.

Very cute. It will be Sophie in the end. I cannot for the life of me understand why the writers thought throwing a random wedding singer into the Kevin's "choices" would be a good idea. So completely ridiculous.
