| I feel like a lot of times, these two professions are more out for money than common sense care. |
| Dentists. |
| Vets because in addition to prescribing you drugs for your pets, they also sell them to you. Total conflict of interest. Plus very few people have pet health insurance. |
| Toss up. What about dermatologists? |
| vets for sure |
| I went to a couple of dentists who constantly found work that needed to be done-$700-1200 each time. |
| They're both scumbags. |
| I've had to take a very hard line with vets in the past few years. |

Funny, our vet has never in 7 years tried to upcharge us on anything. She suggested teeth cleaning for one of our two dogs, but we never did it and she didn't hassle us.
I did once go to a dentist who tried to convince me I needed all kinds of treatment I didn't need. But my current dentist doesn't do that. |
| Dentists. What's up with them constantly trying to push those mouth guard things? |
|
I have never had a problem with either one.
Now salons, they rip people off big time. It is so much cheaper to find ways around them and their overhead. I agree with PP about dermatologists, they are performing borderline plastic surgery procedures without adequate training. I understand trying to make a buck out of people's pockets while circumventing insurance, but this avenue seems controversial. |
| My dentist and vet are both amazing!! I don't have this problem with either. |
| Vets are the worst. They easily play on our emotions and lack of knowledge. |
|
Never had a problem with dentists, and we have insurance, so the insurance would be the one ripped off.
Vets have to be checked often. I ask them what is the absolute minimum that needs to be done and flat out tell them that we have limits as to what we're going to pay. |
