Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)

That is ridiculous. Its every clear on the map that it makes sense to move that neighborhood over to Westfield. You can't leave Westfield at 74% capacity, and that area is very close to Westfield. Much closer than the Bull Run apartments they are moving.
|
| If RIO can completely bypass Skyview, then Walney Oaks can petition to stay at Chantilly. Fair is fair. |
| So they basically carved out one expensive neighborhood and kept them out of Stone/Westfield and created a Franken-boundary for Westfield that only adds in poorer areas? That's nuts. |
Except they were on the map that was released to the public. Then somehow got it edited in real time. |
| I get an error message HTTP 429 when I try to enter my address. This didn’t happen yesterday. |
| So how many more kids does that pull out of Westfield? It dropped from 76 to 74% of 2815 seats. |
|
That leaves Westfield with less than 2100 students.
I'm honestly shocked they changed the map while we were all looking at it. |
| Reid’s reputation for operational incompetence and favoritism grows by the day. This sort of bullshit is unforgivable. She needs to go. |
+1 I saw it, too. Initially, one option was solid from 50 down 28. I saw it prior to a pp saying maps were down. I didn't know it was waln3y oaks. |
| I bet Dixit has a lot to do with this |
Same here. |
Oh, I bet SB also had a say. |
They are moving streets and not ESs? That is kind of nuts. So they are creating split feeders for ES or are these ES already split feeders? |
Sure, but they shouldn’t have uploaded updated scenarios until that dust had settled. It takes a special kind of stupid to keep leaking things in advance that aren’t nailed down. |
yes, scenario 2. It made sense. It moved a balanced SES group of kids over to Westfield. It got Westfield to a bare minimum number of students. Now the only areas moving to Westfield are mostly lower income, and that sliver of Cub Run. |
