2nd Quarter #25 hit Heights defender in the head & shoulder with his collarbone on a clear (he did actually get penalized for it too.) |
So is it confirmed they are both out for the year? Someone on another thread said that one of them played in the 4th but others say both have broken collarbones. GZ is screwed without the UNC commit if he is out for the year. |
UNC commit has a broken collar bone - that is confirmed. Probably out for the year. My son broke his a few years ago and they told us 6-8 weeks but cleared him at week 5 based on his xrays. That would be just in time for playoffs but I certainly wouldn't risk another injury with UNC on the horizon. |

Don't know the kid but I'm going to bet him getting to UNC is a testament to his ability, heart and grit. A kid like that I will also bet will do anything to get back on the field to represent his HS, regardless of next year. Good luck to him.
Also, funny how everyone wrote of GZ on here before the season. I didn't because I don't know anything about their team this year. Shows how much we know! Gotta love HS lacrosse! |
cry me a river... Every team loses players to injury throughout the course of a season - it's unfortunate but it happens in contact sports. There is still plenty of "ball" left to be played this Spring. Instead of having a pity party for your Eagles, I'd recommend embracing the "next man up" mentality. Gonzaga unlike SJC, PVI, or the Heights, has a massive enrollment (the largest in the WCAC by a mile) a 50 plus person roster. I'm sure the coaches can fill in the gaps with the talent they have in the program. |
| Yeah, really poor planning by Gonzaga--the school should have been offering free rides to lacrosse players and free rides (transportation) from the Annapolis area..... |
The kids on the Gonzaga team are talented and all should be able to step up. Gonzaga parents on this board are sad. Are you really looking for pitty? No one ever gave us a chance? Most of the posts are from Gonzaga parents. You picked yourselves to do poorly. Now you want excuses for when you get worked by SJ on Friday. Most predicted a close game with PVI based on a tie in the fall. The game went to OT. No real surprise there. They will probably play one more with the winner facing a loss to SJ. Pretty much what would have been predicted for over a year. No mighty Ducks story in DC lacrosse this year. |
| good post ^^^ |
i'm going to call BS here. |

Gonzaga unlike SJC, PVI, or the Heights, has a massive enrollment (the largest in the WCAC by a mile) a 50 plus person roster. I'm sure the coaches can fill in the gaps with the talent they have in the program. SJ, PVI, GC and DJO all have larger enrollments. |
Largest male enrollment, not coed |
Such a silly argument and comparison. All public schools in 6A nova schools have huge enrollment and tons of lacrosse eligible students. Means nothing. Gonzaga has a huge actual number of lacrosse players. So does SJC PVI and other schools so what. |
|
Gonzaga has twice the number of boys as BI, O'Connell, Good Counsel, Ryken, SJC, and PVI.
They have 3x the number of boys per grade relative to the Heights if not more. |
That fact is irrelevant to performance. All teams in private schools can draw players if they build a program. How many kids live near SJ or Zaga? This is not Idaho or the Alabama. Any school can build a team. |
There are only a handful of players that actually make a difference on the field. Those kids (probably going D1) are going to selects schools with good lax programs. I don’t think the school size matters as much as the quality of the program. |
