Gonzaga has had an epic season so far, especially considering how last season went down, having a new coach and everyone counting them out for this season. Their Achilles heel has been lack of depth, but they have some outstanding players at key positions. I would argue that Gonzaga has the best offensive player in the DMV (25/UNC), best LSM (17/Rutgers), goalie (Penn) is right there with SJC goalie as best in the area, 2 SSDMs (Army/UNC) that are as good a combo as any team in the area. And then there are a number of younger guys and a couple of seniors who keep getting better. They are currently ranked in the top 5 in every national poll for good reason. Let's stop speculating about #25 and see how things play out.
cry me a river... Every team loses players to injury throughout the course of a season - it's unfortunate but it happens in contact sports. There is still plenty of "ball" left to be played this Spring. Instead of having a pity party for your Eagles, I'd recommend embracing the "next man up" mentality. Gonzaga unlike SJC, PVI, or the Heights, has a massive enrollment (the largest in the WCAC by a mile) a 50 plus person roster. I'm sure the coaches can fill in the gaps with the talent they have in the program.
