PVI is phenomenal this year. The heights just put up a good fight.

Rankings go

SJC
PVI
GZ
Bullis
Prep

I’m questioning how good PVI really is. I would have thought they would have knocked the piss out of the Heights yesterday but they really didn’t. They had a big lead in the first half but Heights made it a little interesting in the 2nd half. Reminder the Heights only beat Sidwell Friends by a goal.

This is how I would rank the top 6 (IAC, WCAC teams only)

1. SJC
2. GZ
3. Prep
4. Bullis
5. PVI
6. St Stephens

HM: Landon, STA

I was at the PVI game yesterday. Heights brought it within 2 with just 6 minutes left and then PVI defender took an extremely dirty late hit on heights’ best offensive player. All that momentum came to a stop after the hit.

I have now seen all of the top 5-6 WCAC and every IAC team play. My conclusion is not that PVI isn’t as good as we think, but that both PVI and Heights are top caliber teams (PVI being 1-2 goals better).

To clarify, it took the heights kid out for the rest of the game.

That is an interesting version of the story. How about the score was 8-1 at halftime and PVI decided to play back ups. Heights is not going to be within one goal of the other top WCAC teams.

Troll? No coach would put in nor keep backups in when you are in that close of a game in 3rd/4th. Especially not in a WCAC matchup, but maybe your sons public school does differently?

And better yet, I was at the game (parent of neither team)... PVI kept their starters in the whole game.

That is not creepy at all and I will definitely take your analysis into consideration.

Weirdo. It’s not creepy when some sees a game their kid isn’t in. It’s also not creepy when a parent knows what their talking about. Idiot.

Well you are not a PVI parent how do you know who the staters are and they all played the whole game?

Not creepy. Some people just like the great lacrosse this area offers in great weather. Love it!

minor correction, GP's record is 3-2, not 2-3

I would maybe swap Bullis with Saint Stephen's ranking but otherwise, these rankings look on point.

Bulls vs. SSSA never dissapoints. Always worth the price of admission haha. Look forward to this one.

I know who PVI's starters are by looking at who was on the field at the beginning. Imagine that! Then, those same guys stayed on the field the entirety of the second half! It is not that hard.

I have watched many DMV games, as I played in them 30+ years ago. Sorry, is it creepy to like watching lacrosse games?

Your comments aren’t a good look for PVI. Just saying.

Anyone here see the hit that left #25 on Gonzaga with that broken collar bone? Did both players get injured?

lol there's nothing "creepy" about a non-parent watching a high school lacrosse game

No but posting about is.

Gonzaga has had an epic season so far, especially considering how last season went down, having a new coach and everyone counting them out for this season. Their Achilles heel has been lack of depth, but they have some outstanding players at key positions. I would argue that Gonzaga has the best offensive player in the DMV (25/UNC), best LSM (17/Rutgers), goalie (Penn) is right there with SJC goalie as best in the area, 2 SSDMs (Army/UNC) that are as good a combo as any team in the area. And then there are a number of younger guys and a couple of seniors who keep getting better. They are currently ranked in the top 5 in every national poll for good reason. Let's stop speculating about #25 and see how things play out.
