Gonzaga has had an epic season so far, especially considering how last season went down, having a new coach and everyone counting them out for this season. Their Achilles heel has been lack of depth, but they have some outstanding players at key positions. I would argue that Gonzaga has the best offensive player in the DMV (25/UNC), best LSM (17/Rutgers), goalie (Penn) is right there with SJC goalie as best in the area, 2 SSDMs (Army/UNC) that are as good a combo as any team in the area. And then there are a number of younger guys and a couple of seniors who keep getting better. They are currently ranked in the top 5 in every national poll for good reason. Let's stop speculating about #25 and see how things play out.
cry me a river... Every team loses players to injury throughout the course of a season - it's unfortunate but it happens in contact sports. There is still plenty of "ball" left to be played this Spring. Instead of having a pity party for your Eagles, I'd recommend embracing the "next man up" mentality. Gonzaga unlike SJC, PVI, or the Heights, has a massive enrollment (the largest in the WCAC by a mile) a 50 plus person roster. I'm sure the coaches can fill in the gaps with the talent they have in the program.
The kids on the Gonzaga team are talented and all should be able to step up. Gonzaga parents on this board are sad. Are you really looking for pitty? No one ever gave us a chance? Most of the posts are from Gonzaga parents. You picked yourselves to do poorly. Now you want excuses for when you get worked by SJ on Friday. Most predicted a close game with PVI based on a tie in the fall. The game went to OT. No real surprise there. They will probably play one more with the winner facing a loss to SJ. Pretty much what would have been predicted for over a year. No mighty Ducks story in DC lacrosse this year.
