Same PP here. After the event ended, this woman literally ran to an Asian lady and started yelling at her. The first Asian didn’t engage. She then went immediately to a group of Asian women and started yelling again. This is when I left because it was just too crazy for me. When I got to the door and turned around, I saw her yelling at a completely different Asian lady. No one—no one Asian, black, Hispanic, white—came up to her to yell at her. |
I am not on either of those platforms. Nextdoor is…crazy. But if you have a problem with THOSE Asian women, then take it up with them. Sounds like you know who they are since, as you said, there’s identifying info. But don’t take it out on any and all Asian women? |
Never said it was ALL Asian women. Was responding to an initial post that said the woman who called out racism must actually racist herself because she was "yelling" at Asian women last night. I have my thoughts on what actualy happened last night but that's irrelevant. |
PP: Were you there? I would love to know what happened from someone who was there. |
| Folks, if you are calling people "racist" purely for the sake of discrediting a position about boundaries you disagree with, you're an ahole. If you want to call out racism, center the the group that is being harmed. Otherwise you are just weaponizing anti-racism to get what you want. |
This is not what is happening. I am so sick of SOME members of the Wootton community justifying their behavior and denying their racism. I hope a reporter gets ahold of all of these receipts and writes a story about the true motivations of their being so against this move to Crown. |
Then share what they said and what was racist about it and how it impacted the group they were being racist towards. |
DCUM is not the place to share. |
So why are you here? |
Any identifying information will get deleted here... |
Don't worry, if I want to share the receipts I know where to go. We'll see what type of lawsuit gets filed next week first. |

I had to ask someone about the racist lady that people are talking about on here.
I knew people that went to the meeting but they didn't really say anything about her last night. Although the person I knew left early, so might've missed anything that got escalated. If it's the same person it sounds like that lady is a Dufief mom who the anti H people are kind of tired about and may not have been receptive of her. I think the whole issue of the public sentiment and the sentiment of the pro H people towards the anti H people is problematic. What are the accusations? They're racist, classist, etc. Yeah that might be the reasoning behind some of them but it's not all of them. Just think about it, if MCPS had the money and tried to keep the majority happy. So they send Dufief, Travilah, Stonemill, Fields Road and the Rosemont island to Crown. Then kept Lakewood, Fallsmead and Cold Spring at the current Wootton, would the Dufief families be happy? They still have three of the original Wootton feeders going to their school, plus one outside ES and a tiny island of another school. If they have any issues with that proposal, again pretending that cost isn't a factor, it's the same reasons the Parkway people have. You can criticize a school and population and not really make it about race or class. Some things are just the way things are. We know three people that taught at Fields Road. One person is a sub who seemed to be a preference of the principal and loved getting long term assignments at that school. Then two teachers who didn't stay there for more then two or three years due to the chaotic environment. So two out of three teachers who had issues with the environment there. Then families see the negative reviews posted for the school here: https://www.greatschools.org/maryland/gaithersburg/892-Fields-Road-Elementary-School/#Reviews (there are positive reviews too) If outside families see the above, it's kind of a valid reason to have concern about the new grouping of schools. Then even people in those communities are eager to get out of it. From what I gather, a good portion of the Washingtonian Woods families send their kids to private school or Poolesville. They have residents signing the petition for Option H and I don't know if it's people trolling but you see posters on DC Urbanmom suggest that Washingtonian Woods get reassigned to Dufief. Then you have the Rosemont island people chomping at the bit to have the Wootton students go to Crown. They apparently refuse to wait and have their kids go to Gaithersburg HS in the meantime. The same reasons why some of the Rosemont island and Washingtonian Woods families don't want their kids in the local schools are the same reasons why the Wootton families don't want the change in schools. No one said anything about race, class, etc. It's just facts, some schools have issues. And if you say something like, well that's the norm for MCPS and welcome to the real world, that's where the whole issue is. Where that's not the norm for Wootton and why families chose to live there. If you take out the good schools, what appeal does Montgomery County have over neighboring counties? |
Here or with the people both saying and tacitly condoning the racist remarks directly? I would argue with them directly is the more appropriate forum, but apparently if you do that you are automatically also a racist yourself so here are a couple of examples: - Parents saying that Magruder should share Crown with FRES and Rosemont because they are all more demographically oriented to work-based learning rather than the academic excellence of Wootton kids - Parents saying that the demographics of the new schools (in much more explicit terms that I am doing here) would compromise the excellence of current Wootton because there would be a lower percentage of Asians - Parents saying that violent incidents will increase at Wootton (which by the way, are significantly currently higher than incidents at QOHS where FRES articulates to now) because of the change in demographics Again, this is happening in forums online and its happening in Whatsapp chats that include hundreds of Wootton parents. I would be shocked if more than 2-3 of the 25 parents who went to the candidate forum last night aren't in any of those forums, as the people who went to the candidate forum are almost uniformly people who care deeply about the boundary study. So while they may not agree with any of those horrible views, they absolutely know about them and are doing nothing to speak up against them. |

I wasn’t at the forum and haven’t seen a video yet.
Some of the community seems to think that the Asian population is being unfairly targeted with the move to Crown. Why? Is it racist? It was specifically mentioned in questions at the Dr. Taylor night. |
Boundary zones are temporary but internet metadata is forever. Shocking to see what people put in writing on WhatsApp when their phone # links to realtor pages or other community jobs! |
