The kidneygate Twitter account linked to this article, which is really good:

The NYT directed me to share my concerns in their Reader Center:

That was really good. Thank you for sharing. |
Thanks for sharing. I’ve read a million updates on this but I like hearing from other donors. |
Cancel on your card. It’s impossible to get through. Wonder why? |
| I have posted a lot of comments on NYT. You can’t say anything “mean”. Or call “names” like sexist etc. They won’t print it. |
| The NYT got exactly what they wanted. More publicity. |
Do they report their subscriber numbers and changes to those numbers somewhere? |
I've taught creative writing, and I've never engaged in mocking my students. Sonya's Grub Street friends are highly unethical. |

FWIW, I think both photos are flattering. Their expressions are a bit inscrutable, allowing people to read into them what they want. |
That is a relief. I was sad to realize I was suspicious of the teacher, who has done literally nothing to deserve it except be a creative writing teacher two weeks after Bad Art Friend dropped. It would never have occurred to me to think suspiciously of teachers before the past two weeks. I don't know why anyone would take a class at Grub Street again. |
