Not PP, but someone on here was trying to act like a lawyer and was very confused about what an offer is vs what offer and acceptance is (contract formation, payment, etc.). The person was asinine. FWIW, I too saw the Spirit emails proving offers had gone out before the last ID session, just like other clubs and in the past. This poster, if you, did seem to be defensive about Spirit and want to mislead the anonymous crowd here. Enough already. It is moot, and the posts are all there for those to see. I think it is pretty bad if Spirit was behind this. And my daughter has an offer from them!

Younger girls still choosing DA over ECNL. No matter how many articles are put out.

Until DA arrived, everybody not playing ECNL trashed the league for being elitist...closed..to much money...etc. now they're trying to make ECNL the hero...be for real...and this is coming from a former ECNL parent.

I repeat. If a club with both GDA and BDA drops one due to HS restriction then they must drop the other for the same restrictions. If not, their argument is invalid and stinks of politics.

Not sure why Spirit would be behind it?

They made offers, why would they say they did not make offers? This is just a little bit paranoid. On the other hand, a defensive or delusional parent spouting off things that don't make any sense? Which is more believable?

I cannot imagine any club - Spirit or otherwise - wasting time on this Mom board. So comments like "if Spirit was behind this" just sound ridiculous to me. This is clearly and always has been a parent board, with varying levels of awareness of soccer, what it is to be an adult, and how to handle an adult conversation.

Sometimes posters get it right; sometimes they get it wrong. But shame on all the name calling, club bashing, and overly dramatic behavior. If your kid got an offer from anywhere, great! You don't need this board to validate your child's talent. And if they didn't, it doesn't mean they aren't talented or that an offer isn't coming.

Sometimes coaches get it right; sometimes more training is required. If this baord isn't about information sharing, then it's just a gossip show and we are all participants.

I think all the posters agree you are contributing to the problem as much as anyone.

Here's a more interesting topic, all of this has made me curious about one of the previous posts. Do people think that clubs are even aware of this website and all the discussion of this turf war and trash talk on it? Does anyone think that coaches or anyone else running these clubs actually read this forum? I have always wondered about that given the ECNL vs DA market share battle and actually do not have any sense. I hope the answer is No.

I am definitely seeing something else. I have been attending the DA ID sessions. I do not see a large number of younger players from ECNL. Some - yes. But to say younger kids are choosing DA over ECNL is really reaching. I also am not seeing the best talent from Loudoun and other program attend these sessions. I think it is too early to tell. I do not think we will all know until rosters are set.

The way you mention Loudoun has no talent base left...well that makes your agenda clear. You are a DA parent (probably the FCV jerk) out to misinform people. Here is why I say that - there is no way you know. You do not know what Loudoun is doing, it is too early to tell. DA and ECNL Rosters are not set or announced. So to say no talent base left is pure BS.

Before you lash out to get the last word - we still do not know where we will be playing and are still on the fence between DA and ECNL. Your posts like this do not help anyone. Ok - feel free to bash now like a little baby, I could not care less.
