Because for many (most?) Jews in America, being Jewish is not a religion but an identity. |
I'm aware of that, but the PP claims that Jews are afraid to mingle with gentiles. Clearly they aren't. |
I was talking about a core belief within the religion system that is readily espoused. This tenet warns religious Jewish people that their religious identity will be threatened and it is a betrayal to the Jewish people who came/suffered before if their jewish beliefs fade. If you’re Jewish, this rings true to you, even if you don’t believe it yourself. Ask your proud Zionist friends and/or the ones who went to private jewish schools. I know a number of interfaith jewish couples. Marriage doesn’t mean the issue isn’t there, especially when children and extended family are involved. |
We should just let them fight it out. US should not get involved or support Israel. Germany can support Israel and clean up their own mess. |
I AM Jewish (was raised Orthodox and went to private Jewish schools), and I haven't a clue what you're going on about. |
A large majority of Palestinians have Jewish ancestry as seen by the stars of David on many graves and facing toward Jerusalem not Mecca. I think it’s BS when people say it’s not about religion. If the Palestinians were still Jewish, Zionists would not have kicked them out or killed them. If Zionists were Muslims from Europe, they would’ve been welcomed. It has all to do with religion, not identity. Nobody can even identify a Jew or a Palestinian if they didn’t have religious garb. You would struggle to tell who is who |
And that’s exactly what the vile, radical, extremist Zionists do. They obsessively monitor this board and try to get the discussion to end because they would love nothing more than the status quo to persist. Then, they only report posts that cut to the heart of the matter and threaten to educate others regarding the actual facts, the factual history, and the actual atrocities committed by Israel, which they feverishly support. |
You could put a yarmulke and suit on Hassan Nasrallah and nobody would bat an eye in Israel. These are certainly not people fighting over identity.
It’s almost all about religion: Zionism vs Islamism with Christianity kinda in the margins but more aligned with secular Arab/pro Western govt something again ironically a threat to Israel AND Islamic extremists. Politics makes for strange bedfellows kids and Hamas and Mossad do not hate each other despite what the rank and file Palestinian and Israeli are fooled to believe |
I'm sorry...are you under the impression that comments written on an anonymous internet forum have some bearing on what is happening or will happen in the Middle East? |
Is Israel is winning people demand ceasefire.
If Israel is losing people declare it a tragedy that Israel had coming and demand Israel surrender. |
I wrote ‘in the beginning’. I think anyone who is not despondent at this point wouldn’t be saying so out loud, to a non Jewish person, at least. |
Plenty of non-Jews support Israel, even now. |
How can you not have a clue? the justification for Zionism and Israel is protection against perceived ever-present threats against Jews. |
You can support Israel and be despondent. Anyone who isn’t saddened beyond belief by war is cold hearted and directly profiting off of it. |
What are you winning? You’re shooting starving people in a fish bowl, and you want cheers? |
