This will be a close game. No shows may be the deciding factor. Wouldn't be shocked at a Madison win, but there's a reason YT has a huge winning streak. Until proven otherwise, I would take YT in a close one. 12-10.

Looking at lax numbers (overall VA rankings so I could include Riverside):
Madison's best wins have come against #20 Riverside, #22 Chantily, and #26 Robinson
Yorktown's best wins have come against #10 Battlefield, #11 Oakton, and #19 Langley

The only common opponent is Robinson, (YT vs Robinson was 14-4; Madison vs Robinson was 19-8), which they have a similar margin of victory.

Yorktown is slightly more battle tested, I give the nod to Yorktown.

Move on, it's a physical game and was physical on both sides. I think a reputation for playing hard is a good thing, not a bad thing. Is it better to just let a team walk all over you? I'm sure Madison won't be physical at all..... come on...

As a YT mom, I have to admit I am embarrassed. Yes, both teams were physical and to say differently is denial. After reading all these quotes I did my research. The comments about WS's coach are uncalled for as I learned this BP coach resigned on the day they started tryouts in February. When all of our girls were practicing to get ready for the season, I learned they had little. Their new coach has been thrown to the wolves and we are acting like children, not adults. Clearly our team out performed them given we were in 1st place last year in the state. Our team beat Woodson 20 to 4 and Robinson 14 to 4. Both of these teams have had decent programs in the past, but we fail to remember teams cycle through. What I am embarrassed about most are these numbers our girls are scoring. It says nothing about sportsmanship when you beat down other schools. No mercy rule like other sports, just beat them down. The girl who was hit in the head...we need to look at the video as do the refs to see how long it took the ref to call it. I have learned I need to sit away from other parents at games because I know some of this behavior is not appropriate. WS may not have our talent, but they never gave up and they fought back for everything. So, before we make comments about other teams, we need to act like adults and not bullies. A little research was a wake up call and my apologies to the coach for the inappropriate comments.

Responding to: WS Coach needs to teach her players not to cross check players in the ribs out of retaliation, repetitively! Bring BP back he coaches with class.

WS was a dirty team in a physical game that the refs did a poor job both ways of calling. They were cross checking and swinging sticks all night. I'm glad our girls came out okay. Their coach was high fiving and fist bumping girls for hard checks and yelling for them to attack our girls with the ball. It was clear they were outclassed, as they didn't have the speed to win draws out on the circle, couldn't score after halftime, and their goalie had only like 2 saves after the 1st quarter and was overmatched, hopping over low shots and dropping down on high shots like she was trying not to get hit. YT was up double digits in the 4th and Coach T had the bench in just trying to run it out and the WS coach still had her starters in cross checking and chasing our girls around. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO WIN THE GAME AT THAT POINT. We felt bad for the girls on their bench that never got in cause they have such a nasty coach. It's Public HS lacrosse for chrissake. Not sure what she was trying to prove, but it is clear she is taking that program down the toilet with her approach. It's sad cause they used to be a credible program under BP.

Anyone know why BP quit WS on the day of tryouts?
