When do we think she'll address the role she played in systemic institutionalized racism as a prosecutor?

Excellent question. Don't think the other side won't run with this, her deflections do not help.

Joe also needs to address his work on the 1994 Crime Bill. I'm worried this would not be a great combo.

I like Whitmer too.

She's probably the most personable of his prospects, very calm and sensible much like he is. Doesn't hurt that she's also telegenic. If Black voters could get on board with her, would be great.

I’m black. But only one voice, of course. Still, ask any protester out there filling out voter registration forms in an unofficial poll, and I doubt many people outside of her stomping ground would know who she is.

Like Whitmer a lot but she is not who Joe needs. Joe is Whitmer for PA and the Midwest. He needs someone who will drive voters to the polls - in their cars if necessary - as happened for Doug Jones in 2017. And he has some choices on his card to do so.

Joe is not particularly popular in the Midwest. Whitmer is, and she is popular with young voters and women, and younger voters of color.

She has broad appeal, but especially in the Midwest which is so important. Times are so volatile, smart he's waiting another 2+ months to make the decision. Much vetting to do, demographic popularity to assess etc.

She has, but so? I’m constantly amazed by how many people - and people with the time and energy - don’t pay attention. And even those who do pay attention can’t keep up with the open sewage pipe of the GOP news cycle.

People don’t get their news from the tv anymore. Period. It’s 2020. I don’t know anyone under 40 who watches it with 100% consistency like my family did growing up.

I didn’t say anything about TV.

Worse than 'send the dogs' Trump?

Get real. I'm tired of Dems being held up to the most miniscule of standards meanwhile in 3 years Trump has been accused of foreign espionage, nepotism, anarchy, screwing a prostitute, stoking the flames of racial hatred, absolute ineptitude, and that's just the stuff I remember off the top of my head.

You need to go back 26 years to find something he needs to address? You don't even have to go back 26 days to find something that Trump needs to answer for.

It would be good to be able to go 26 minutes without him being a pants-sh*tting embarrassment

I mean for f sake, earlier in the day he said the only president to be better for black Americans is "possibly" Abraham Lincoln

Words fail. WTF is wrong with him?

So Tammy Duckworth introduced the bill three years ago, revived it, Harris coattailed it and is the one who held the press conference about it. Sounds about right.

What you just told me is that Kamala is a shrewd and skilled politician. Which you need to survive and thrive in DC as well as get legislation passed. We’ll need a slew of reforms if Biden wins and I think Harris is up to the challenge.

Duckworth has been in Congress since 2013 and enacted 6 bills.

Harris has been in Congress since 2017 and enacted 4 bills. Her committee memberships are also far more powerful.

From Willie Brown to the attacks on Biden to this, she's an opportunist and will be painted as such in the many attack ads that will flood the airways. She's just not likable, and midwestern swing voters will not go for her. Biden does not need her baggage.
