Duggar son allegedly molested girls including sisters

Anonymous
Josh is a pedophile; he'll ALWAYS be a pedophile.

Furthermore, someone "pointed him" in this direction. the question is . . . Who molested him?

I'm ok with my brother but as adults we were close because we were family vs really being close.

Ew. How do you know he isn't a pedophile? Or just a creep? Close family? Your parents should never have that thing in your in your presence unless he was a 2ish aged child which I doubt- they owe you an apology. I was molested as a child. Michele Duggar is a total asshole: http://wtop.com/entertainment/2015/06/sister-of-reality-star-josh-duggar-says-she-was-a-victim/
Michelle Duggar said her daughters “have been victimized more by what has happened in the last couple of weeks than they were 12 years ago because, honestly, they didn’t even understand and know that anything had happened until after the fact when they were told about it.”

Contradicted by the police report, which says that on several occasions, the girls came running to Jim Bob crying that Josh was touching them. In particular the incident with the four year old when he was reading her a book.

The new police report clearly says "he" told his parents, not the girls. Even the 5 year old sister had already learned to obey, not to question or complain or protest.

I had to turn it off after that. I couldn't listen to any more of it.

Damage control, lies and manipulations - all designed to keep the TV money flowing in.

Faux News didn't help, with its misrepresentations (e.g. the police report was "illegally obtained" - completely false information and Megyn Kelly, who is a lawyer, KNOWS that).

These people make me ill.

The bolded-- that I believe.

I do, too, because in their twisted "purity culture" cult, conditions are ripe for this sort of abuse.

Prove it was illegal to release the police report. My understanding is that police reports are public records that are not sealed and that the county attorney OK'd the release. Is that not correct?

Freedom of Information (FOI) law in Arkansas states that the records of the arrest of a juvenile "shall remain confidential" and "shall not be subject to disclosure under the FOI."
That seems pretty clear to me.

All of the names of minors were redacted.

Release of the report was compliant with applicable law.

Yeah, he certainly had no trouble getting up in front of people as Executive Director of whatever the organization was called and spouting off all kinds of nonsense. And I applaud those who he persecuted in the past, none have come out condemning him and standing up and giving speeches about how his lifestyle is horrible and he is going to hell,

Well, his life is pretty much over at 27. Now he's got to support a wife with no ability to work herself and 4 kids with his GED education, no job skills, universal disdain for him and no money from TLC or the Family Conservative Council (or whatever it was called) rolling in to pay the bills.

He is reaping what he has sown.

What is most striking to me about this interview is the extreme lack of discussion of the victims and the effects of the molestation on them. Even when pushed, Jim Bob did not discuss the parents' handling of the victims' needs.

A PP upthread said that, most likely, CPS was involved and the girls received counseling. It's possible, but the Duggars haven't exactly said that, and no one else has. This was their chance to clear up how the girls had been helped, in this interview, and they didn't. Mostly they said, the girls were asleep or it was over their clothes or they were too young -- basically, the girls didn't even need any counseling because it was all so minor.

For those who still don't get it: m

Police records and a police report are two different things. There was a report. Josh was never charged, so there never was a record to seal in the first place.

The release of the report was perfectly legal.

Because they didn't want to get into the fact that they only took the kids for counseling once it was REQUIRED (years after the molestation began) by child protective services and a (sealed) court case against Josh Duggar by the state of Arkansas.

Stop sipping at the koolaid Derek! Grow a pair and help your wife free herself.

Internet rumor: the whole family including baby is going to Nepal. Smart move, getting far far away from all this.

And because it was all about Josh. And Jesus.

And because girls are not valued in their culture. They are a means of producing babies and keeping households running.

This whole situation is so sad, frustrating, infuriating and the addition of trying to literally spin a story in the media it becomes almost a farce. The victims get totally lost in the story. I'm not entirely sure that Josh isn't a victim in his own way (that doesn't also discount him being the abuser and predator, nor does it mean he shouldn't be held responsible) but being raised in this cult seems like it almost could have contributed to his monstrous acts!
