BINGO!

So Very true!!! Where is he?

The bolded-- that I believe.

I do, too, because in their twisted "purity culture" cult, conditions are ripe for this sort of abuse.

Before I had to turn the interview off because I was so angry, I did notice that Jim Bob said that he talked to other families about this and they said it was common. Aaaaaaagh!

The victims get totally lost in the story. I'm not entirely sure that Josh isn't a victim in his own way (that doesn't also discount him being the abuser and predator, nor does it mean he shouldn't be held responsible) but being raised in this cult seems like it almost could have contributed to his monstrous acts!

It makes me ill that the Duggars are parading two of the survivors on TV to try to spin the story. If you are that upset about the report being made public, maybe you should let your children have some freakin' privacy.

He talked to other families IN THEIR CULT. Sex abuse, molestation, incest, kiddie porn is very common in their cult. It is disgusting. The whole cult needs to be investigated by that guy who does the kiddie porn stings on TV.

Internet rumors also claim that the Duggars locked the girls in their room at night. Shouldn't Josh have been the one locked up? What if there was a fire?

He sure became well versed in the law, didn't he? 'He's not a pedophile because a pedophile is over 16'. WTF Does he really think pedophiles watch the calendar to calculate how long they can abuse? And those instances are the ones he informed him about. Why assume he told of all incidents? Not many kids self-incriminate, even for small things. Just made my stomach turn how reliant on technicalities he was, when his children were abused.

+1

"Parents are not mandatory reporters."

Well, duh - that's because it is assumed that PARENTS WILL PROTECT THEIR CHILDREN.

WTF.

Maybe he had the Arkansas statutes pulled up on his "not so hidden lap" iPhone for quick reference.

Here's a pro tip: If you ever start defending your parenting by explaining that you are "not a mandatory reporter", that's a sign something has gone terribly wrong in your family.

I wonder if Fox News gave them the questions ahead of time, and they memorized answers? It seemed like they were repeating the same phrases over and over. Maybe the papers and phone had their "canned responses" typed out.

Stop sipping at the koolaid Derek! Grow a pair and help your wife free herself.

Really? Will they take the baby with them? To a devastated Nepal?

Hopefully. But no, probably not. Probably only Derrick will go, for a short trip, while wife stays at home with the baby.

In the previews for the next season (which we may never see) it was heavily hinted that he and Jill were moving their family to do missionary work.

Ah, yes, because that's exactly what Nepal needs right now. An additional pair of Bible thumpers preying on desperate people in the midst of devastation to recruit converts. Are they going to hand them cookies for listening to their sermons?

The fact that TLC still hasnt pulled this show is appalling. Everyone should head over the the Discovery HQ in Silver Spring and knock the place down.

Hey PP - that's not a terrible idea. Not the knocking down part, but the taking this to Discovery.

We are in the DC area, we know how to demonstrate, and most importantly we have the HQ of the parent company located here. So why not link up with Moveon.org or some other group and have ourselves a good old fashioned protest? Instead of posting on an anonymous forum which doesn't affect any change, take it to the streets, garner a little press, and SHOW Discovery that the tacit approval and monetizing of child molestation is not ok, even if they manage to skirt the law.

If it's anything like the family's earlier trips to Central America, they will not give out food at all. Just Bibles. Written in English.

PP here and that it the point I was trying to make, thank you for underscoring it for me.

I've now watched the entire interview and I am so angry. They spent so much time on the bullshit canard of the "illegally" released police report - accusing the retiring police chief of having an agenda?!? - that is a total crock. Ironically, if they had done everything the right way, that police report would have become part of a court case involving a juvenile and therefore sealed, just like the results of the CPS investigation were sealed. Police reports by themselves are eligible to be released with the proper redaction of the names of juveniles, as we done in this case. Kelly knows or should have known that and still asked questions presuming their illegal argument was correct and let them go on and on about it.
