Killer of Charlie Kirk 'appears to be of college age,' police say, and 'blended in' with college population. - AP

This sounds unlikely.

The shooter was well trained. Shooting someone in the head from 200+ yards away and hitting him in the neck… this was not someone who was a weekend shooter.

DP. Hitting a target from 200 yards does require training, but there's a lot of practiced hunters and people with military training who could do it, including a lot of college aged people.

No sh*t Sherlock. A head shot, with a single round, from 200+ yards out, is marksmanship. This is not an individual that started shooting this month. He was formally trained.

- retired Marine.

And we will never know the true story. This administration will see to that. They have zero credibility at this point. They will make up their radical leftist narrative and shove it hard down everyone's throats to justify more militarization of our cities and to justify the violent retribution that Trump had been calling for all along.

Over this person? It was a horrible senseless murder, but a lot of people didn't even know much about this person. Most are learning about him from the coverage of this incident unless they were one of his existing fans.

Those of you who didn’t know much about Charlie Kirk have been living in a liberal bubble. He was extremely influential.

No, silly. Anyone listening to the right and left wing nut job garbage out there today is living in a bubble with other bubble idiots. Leave us normal people out of your wing nut hyper-partisan madness.

Bought the other guy some time to get away. I wonder if they were together.

Anyone remember Gabby Giffords? She was shot in an attempted assassination and permanently disabled. And that's just one victim in a long list of past and recent victims (recent, like MN Rep Hortman and MN Sen Hoffman).

I've been assured that conservatives are just as radicalized as the left because a homeless person attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer and a democrat in Minnesota shot some other democrats.

Anytime you try to characterize an entire side of the political spectrum (e.g. "the left" or "conservatives" or "the right" as violent) you are outing yourself as someone trying to excuse retaliatory violence.

Yeah, but people saw who he is and still voted for him. So who really brings out the worst in people?

False flag? Stinks of it.

Antifa doesn’t exist, if they did why aren’t they fighting the real fascists in DC?! They’re leaving the fight to a guy and a sandwich. Total false flag!

The wording about "ideology" was lifted directly from a series of insider messages at one of the law enforcement agencies. Doesn't bode well that LE thinks Antifa is actually a thing or that transgender people even have an ideology! No - transgender people are just trying to survive and not get horrifically tortured and murdered, like so many of them are.

I can believe that the perp is a mentally ill person who espouses views opposite to those of Charlie Kirk, either on the even-further-right or the left, and that they are either accepting of gender variations, or very much against them and trying a false flag operation. Either of these would make sense.

But the way this is phrased makes me think no one at these agencies even understands the oppression that transgender people live through, and that makes me sad.

Most likely a proud boy or Jan 6’er. They are eliminating rivals to Trump.

You are so far down the nutty rabbit hole that you think CK was a rival to Trump. You are seriously out of your ever loving mind.

You are no better than the people who think sandy hook didn’t happen.

Statement from Former Dem Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who was shot in the head in 2011 in an attempted assassination at a public speaking event and who was permanently disabled as a result:

"The murder of Charlie Kirk breaks my heart. My deepest sympathies are with his wife, two young children, and friends.
Attacks against political or ideological opponents are cowardly and un-American, and must be universally condemned.
This summer alone, both Democrats and Republicans have been assassinated in heinous acts of political violence. It’s terrifying, and has no place in a democracy.
The responsibility to protect our public servants, political figures, and all Americans is not partisan. It’s patriotic—and long overdue. Congress must take action, now."

2011. Nothing has changed.

This is a low blow and accomplishes nothing but bringing out the worst in people. Aim higher and do better.

If true, who's to say this isn't a false flag?

You’re totally right because the trans community doesn’t have any recent history of violence and shooting people……

Yeah but who'd be dumb enough to mark their rifle with identifying symbols, and then leave it to be found? And what a convenient "leak".

Also, trans community violence is dwarfed in comparison to right wing extremist violence.

On a per capita basis? Are you serious?

It's a little too convenient that this "leak" happens right after DOJ is trying to ban trans people from owning guns.

And that Charlie was speaking about trans violence when he was shot.

Right, so Charlie Kirk getting executed in cold blood during a college debate would be Trump’s fault—because his personality rubs people the wrong way?

Want other examples? Buffalo grocery shooter. Guy who fired 200 rounds at CDC, killing security officer. Arson at PA governor home. Jan 6, beating up cops, guy who parked a truck of homemade explosives and other weapons at Capitol building. Guy who drove car into No Kings protesters in Culpepper, VA.

Stop pretending it is one side. Horrible people exist, period.

Or the ADL . . . ."All extremist-related murders in 2024 were committed by right-wing extremists.""

Yes, anytime someone says “transgender ideology” I know they’ve been brainwashed. I have known two people who are transgender. One of whom I knew as a child. The idea that either of these individuals succumbed or promoted an ideology about being trans is absurd.

Things have changed, actually - there's been a significant increase in political violence since 2011, and most of those have been perpetrated by the far-right. Many years ago, federal law enforcement identified far-right extremists as the number 1 domestic terrorist threat.

Despite the right-wing bubble exploding over this particular assassination, the FACTS point to much more violence on the right than on the left.

This is turning in to teh Epstein files. Now maga federal law enforcement has planted trans evidence?

Looks more and more like a right wing hit being covered by the Trump administration. Wonder if Trump gave the orders?

Her husband, Mark Kelly, was recently threatened with execution by Trump's friend Roger Stone.

I haven't read all of the preceding 104 pages but it se me to me that the person responsible for the most hateful and dangerous talk is none other than Donald J. Trump. Without any evidence he blamed the left.
