He’s innocent until proven guilty, drunk or sober.

Had a case in my city where a woman was murdered (lots of evidence leading to a car thief whose phone was in the area, although not enough to convict). But her psych med taking ex boyfriend turned himself in to police because he was afraid maybe he did it because he couldn't account for his time. They had to tell him to get lost because he was just delusional due to panic and upset and pre-existing mental health issues.

None of this speculative chit chat is going to result in this poor girl being found alive. How about we let this thread fade so people who casually knew her won't have to run across these random speculations? People sitting around accusing the young guy are also potentially contributing to destroying his life if he is innocent. Let the police do their jobs. DCUM isn't going to crack this case.

Feel free to scroll past this thread.

There are thousands of articles, blogs, tik toks, etc. and this is a discussion forum. The missing girl is a local and it’s a parenting site, of course it is of interest. Participation is voluntary.

It's just kind of sad that the most popular threads on here are crime-related (Luigi, this one, Fairfax murder) and don't really have much to do with parenting.

Then after that it seems to be flame wars about Meghan Markle.

I think he said she was walking out of the water but very possible for another wave to knock her over and pull her out again.

This exact thing happened to me. On a much smaller scale. I was coming out of the ocean and seemingly out of nowhere know another wave knocked me forward. I ended up tumbling and ended up having a good laugh about it, but I remember how unexpected it was. I was completely sober too because I was out with my kids. It was a green flag day so I can imagine how much stronger the red flags were.

When you are so drunk that you are puking your guts out, you really aren't in any shape to pull off a kidnapping heist.

he at least had the sense not to drown while he was drunk

He was not that drunk, girl was drunk and almost falling but he was holding her with one arm and taking pictures/video with other arm.

He used translator in his initial interrogation but he has seen news about what inconsistent stories he told in the media coverage. And now a week later he comes up with new information that he was a hero saving her. Really?

Maybe he's not smart, doesn't have a great lawyer, and doesn't want to go to jail in the DR for years. WWYD.

I just read the interview in Spanish. I don’t see why people are saying it would not be accurate because of the translator-his translated answers appeared to be responding appropriately to the questions asked.

At any rate, he said the fooling around started because she had started giving him kisses. That seems weird-like usually would describe it as “we started kissing” or she kissed me rather than her repeatedly kissing him.

That may be the latest story from him

Why do you keep nannering on about him holding a phone? He was drunk enough to puke all over the beach (fact). Have you ever been puke-drunk? That's an advanced stage of intoxication.

Not an armchair detective? That's a rarity on this site.

Sure. But you can’t just accuse someone of something without evidence.

There have been threads on this site re teens and “breath play” - seems could lead to tragedy easily. As could anger. Force is harder to gauge when impaired, esp with a large size/weight differential. Lots of things could have happened very quickly without prolonged or nefarious intent.

Wasn't daily mail deemed an unreliable source by the experts on this thread who were claiming to know exactly what happened to the young woman?
