The objection is to how fake it all is. Martha is a real one, by which I mean a real B. And people eventually liked her for it. You gotta be what you are. If Meghan leaned into her villain era she’d gain more genuine admirers.

The entire family is premised on a delusion wherein they get to take other people's money and occupy this weird, rarified role because *it's ordained by god.* Like... that's next level.

No one has blamed her for all of the dysfunction of a thousand year old institution. I do think she is a nasty, nasty piece of work regarding her sister in law, and so is Harry. If anything, I’d guess the uh “practicing” members of the BRF are thrilled that Meghan first took Harry off their hands and then isolated him. It’s a gift.

William has done far more to disregard Kate than anything Harry or Meghan have ever done. And the rest of the family treated her pretty horribly for the first years of their marriage.

The family is weird and it's like it's got psychotic hazing rituals for "outsiders" and people respect Kate because she tolerated them and found her way into the inner circle, and they resent Meghan for refusing to participate in the hazing and expecting to be treated respectfully from the beginning instead of having to "earn" her role through abject humiliation for like the first 10 years of her marriage, like Kate did. But I will never be mad at someone for refusing to deal with BS like that. I hate a clique.

And I think most people would be able to take stock of that and go live their best life. But she just can't let the RF drama go. To me, her need to be a victim is the strongest evidence that she is a narcissist according to diagnostic criteria. Mentally healthy people are able to move on, but she just can't, and she probably think if she spins the story enough times that people will eventually realize she was "right." Whereas normal people would realize that reliving that chapter of life isn't doing her any favors.
