You're absurd and you're the one who sounds like a toddler here. NO!!! I DON'T LIKE IT! WAHHHHHH! |
No. |
Like obnoxious, ill-parented children who disturb everyone else's restaurant meal for an hour while lazy mommy stares at her phone. Pass the A1! |
Mic drop. |
You have to wonder what's wrong with someone who can't go anywhere without a dog, and who does this sort of research.
Our family dog is crazy happy at home, in our yard, and hanging out with the dog next door. Sometimes he kills rabbits. Because he is a dog. He doesn't need to go to Lowes or cheap discount stores like Homegoods or TJ Maxx to look at crap that can't sell elsewhere. We love him. He has a great dog's life and we don't expect him to be our boyfriend/husband/companion, etc. He's our family dog. We have each other. I think that lonely people are obsessed with their dogs. |
Wow, I'm a new poster. Where the hell do you live that you need to drive 30 miles for anything? Do you have a spouse and kids? So curious. |
+1000 |
By that logic you probably then also steal from the store so long as the manager doesn't ask you to stop it...

Yep. As prior PPs noted, many dogs have become emotional substitutes for people who can't find a spouse or afford real kids. That's why they feel so compelled to take a dog everywhere you'd bring a loved one. I feel bad for them. |

Whew.
Idiot. Lonely. Pathetic. Dumb. Sad. No one likes you. Can’t find a spouse. Can’t afford kids. I feel bad for you. I notice there is a constant cruel/malicious/spiteful tone in posts about dog owners on DCUM. Often unwarranted. It’s not just in this thread; it’s in many dog threads. Also, I notice this same tone in threads about single people/posters (often with these same words and phrases). I can’t help but wonder if this over-the-top acerbic reaction is a way of justifying one’s own lifestyle. For the life of me, I’ll never understand why someone would tell someone that no one likes them and they are pathetic because they find companionship in a dog. Ladies (I doubt there are men doing this), people who make life choices that are different from yours shouldn’t threaten you. Really, there is no need to disparage others because they are childless, single, possibly lonely, ….or other things you deem to be lesser than. Remember, you might find yourself this way one day. Plus, you might just be wrong. |
Wrong, nobody is anti-dog. That's just a facile attempt to distract from the real issue, which is that more and more dog owners are breaking the rules left and right. Many dog owners are getting increasingly selfish and rude, pure and simple. No consideration for other people anymore. |
I didn’t say anyone is anti-dog. Try re-reading my post; I’m speaking to a wider issue. [PP] |
30 mins is not 30 miles. Can you read? |
I think all of that is weird, too. You might be married today and divorced this time next year and perhaps having a dog as a companion will help with the hurt. When I lost my daughter at 5 months, the rescue dog I adopted helped me not kill myself. Sorry if that makes me pathetic and sad and lonely and dumb. |
All of these really stupid assumptions are just silly. I wrote the post you quoted and I am happily married with a child. And your constant insistence that people like me “insist on bringing my dog everywhere” is just dumb. Yes I sometimes bring her because it works better for our families schedules. No, I don’t in any way care if that bothers you. I follow the rules of the places we go. For the last time, if you don’t like the rules of these places then you are the one who can avoid them. |
