I notice there is a constant cruel/malicious/spiteful tone in posts about dog owners on DCUM. Often unwarranted.

It’s not just in this thread; it’s in many dog threads. Also, I notice this same tone in threads about single people/posters (often with these same words and phrases).

I can’t help but wonder if this over-the-top acerbic reaction is a way of justifying one’s own lifestyle. For the life of me, I’ll never understand why someone would tell someone that no one likes them and they are pathetic because they find companionship in a dog.

Ladies (I doubt there are men doing this), people who make life choices that are different from yours shouldn’t threaten you. Really, there is no need to disparage others because they are childless, single, possibly lonely, ….or other things you deem to be lesser than. Remember, you might find yourself this way one day.
