Glen Youngkin...

Personally I find McAuliffe an insincere phony whom others tolerate simply because they want to hitch their wagon to some of the money he controls.

I could be that republicans are abandoning what used to be the center and those people are now voting in democratic primaries

I will be voting for Youngkin, Ayala and Herring. McAuliffe is a hack, and having Youngkin as Governor with Democrats in other key positions seems like a good way to achieve some balance, something completely lacking in Arlington and Fairfax now.

I will never vote for another republican again, ever. Corrupt party that needs to start over again without the stench of racism, trumpism or corruption that has been exposed over the last 4 years.

Youngkin needs to completely and unieqivicolally repudiate everything that the GOP is right now to have a chance.

I am a D and 100% with you. I'm going to split the vote in an attempt to even out the crazy. I voted for McClellan in primary and will go Youngking and Ayala. Herring has been fabulous the past few years and he has definitely earned my vote and dcampaign contributions.

Except it's too late....he has already sold his soul for the nomination.

If he had come out from the start denouncing Trump and the GOP in Congress it'd be a different story, but nope. He's just going to follow party line - even as crazy as it is right now. Hard pass!

If he'd done that, he wouldn't be the nominee.

Yep. And until the Republican party denounces the crazy, they don't get my vote, and I don't think they will get the vote of the majority of Virginians.
It's always interesting to come back to these board in the days after elections. People on this forum scream about the "echo chamber" but the only echo chamber I see is the ones they are creating on these threads, creating a sense that there is the HUGE amount of OUTRAGE and that people are ready to "sweep out" or "balance" the "out of control" Dems. That's just not the reality on the ground.

Someone who is the head of the Carlisle Group is not an "outsider" - what a crock.

Anyone in any way who supports that orange idiiot won't get anything from me.

I’m not thrilled about the Democrats and I hope McAuliffe can turn toward the center instead of getting bogged down in the weeds of the far left. But I just don’t know if I can vote for someone for governor who has never held political office. It’s too important of a job.

If the Democrats are to the right, I’d hate to see what the left is. Dem Party has moved so far left that it’s crazy what qualifies as a centrist.

If you think McAuliffe is far to the left, I don't know what to say.

The alternative is that he's a centrist, and you consider centrists to be far to the left.

I'm sure these are the same people who think Obama and Biden are socialists.

Youngkin is a MAGA guy and there is no way in heck as a Democrat I'd vote for him, especially as he boasted about Trump endorsing him before the primary. I expect to hear him claim never to have heard of Trump by the end. McAuliffe did fine as governor-not the best but not the worst.

McAuliffe would turn VA into just another high-tax, mid-Atlantic state losing population and influence if he could. Youngkin is a successful businessman. He knows what it takes to succeed.
