This isn't the first time there have been rumors about Gaetz being kinky. I think this is highly suspicious. He needs to release the kids birth certificate. It would have been changed after the adoption to reflect the fathers name.

I think there is zero chance he actually adopted this kid. Seems like the kid lived with him in Florida for a while when he dated - or "dated" - her sister. Then the kid went back and forth between a whole bunch of different people's houses.

It sounds to me like Gaetz has a relationship with the kid, and probably has a nice role in his life - but "adopted son"? No way. Fun bachelor uncle, maybe?

What points does he think this scored him this week? Even if you're one of his right wing supporters, it still all seems pointless. Like when someone tells you a super long, super windy joke and you merely chuckle at the end. Like, why? Why did he pull his "card" this week, right now? Seems like something you'd pull out when you run for Senator or governor. You could tell he was super impressed with himself during the argument that he could drop this "trump card". But again, it fell flat. He "raised" a teen for 8 years to drop it now at some meaningless argument in the house?
