HA! I lived in the Caribbean for 10+ years. Just because you live in a tourist destination you still have to deal with real life. And real life with school-aged kids isn't raindrops on a covered porch and endless days outside fairytale.
All the defensiveness shows they are getting a huge dose of reality.

Yes, as someone who lived for several years with 4 people in a 1400 square foot house with one bathroom, I find the snarky comments here really obnoxious. No one living in that house is suffering. That is plenty of space for a family of 4.

Who knows what motivated this move, and why does it matter? If you don't like what they are selling, then stop buying it. They don't "owe" anyone content. Maybe they are deliberately trying to cut back. Maybe one or both of them is WOTH because they need the health insurance. Maybe Sherry loves her job and wants to devote more time to it. Maybe she's spending all her time home schooling right now and she is spent. Maybe they would have made a different choice, or delayed this particular choice, if they had known they'd be spending a year+ stuck at home doing DL. I guess they didn't have a crystal ball.

Oh please they live their lives on-line and make a living off their followers clicking on the links they post. I have no shame in my snarking.

I don't live in a huge house, but they layout is 1--x better than their Florida home. S is so defensive because she knows the house layout is terrible. She goes on and on about how much space they have in their front entrance then shows them moving furniture around 100 different ways she knows it an awkward space and having a seating in the busy entrance is impractical. Then there is the house being build next door. so they have huge 3+ story houses towering over them on both sides. The new house next door even had balconies that look right down on their deck. It's like apartment living.

So I looked up their new house and neighborhood and it seems like they took a gamble and lost...for now. Timing is everything and they just had bad timing with this move. But, they bought a house for 730k in a million plus beach neighborhood. I don’t think they knew about the construction next door. No one in their right mind would chose to move next to a construction zone lot of a soon to be multi-unit mid-rise condo.

They can’t invest too much into the house because they will likely move for privacy reasons. If they’re lucky, they can sell it after a two years and make a small profit. But they have to put on a happy, optimistic face. I’d bet their oldest child reads their posts and follows them.

Anyway, I think they’re brave for taking the risk. They should stay in Florida, even in that same area, but in a better house. They might not be as close to beach, but it’ll be worth it for a better layout.

Oddly, yesterday I was looking at their Instagram for the first time in a few months and was surprised by how sick she looked. It’s what made me click this thread. She had such dark circles and a gaunt face. Skinny, but aged. I totally understand if she is stressed, depressed or anxious. I know I am and I haven’t moved to a new state in a global pandemic. I wish them peace and strength. They’ll all be fine in time.

Lol. That was not my Florida childhood.

It is nice to visit my mom in the winter though. It’s usually nice to be outside then.

Many of us live in small houses just fine. Apartments are bigger than our house at 900 square feet. We make it work. She needs something to blog about to make money.

They both have other jobs! I think that's been made clear. They do advertising free lance work, that they can pick up more of to make ends meet. The blog/influencer side is probably 1 full time job on top of that, that they share. So they are clearly paring down the influencer side. There is only so much to share! And there kids are doing virtual school, so are home all the time.

Anyhow, I think they'll move to a bigger place too. We'll see!

The weird part, especially for those who have been following them for years, is that they were open for years that the blog was Sherry's full time gig and other stuff was on the side. Later John quit his job and the blog was also his full time gig. Up until they moved from Richmond, it really seemed that this hadn't changed. They did regular blog posts, podcasts, and IG posts. Sherry posted endless IG stories. Then post-move it all stopped. When questioned Sherry replied that they had always had full time jobs and nothing had changed. It seemed like such gaslighting. For people who share their whole life on the internet, it was bizarre thar they refused to acknowledge the shift. They certainly don't owe the internet an in depth explanation, but it would have been normal to share that post-move they've shifted their time to other priorities for now and will be blogging on a reduced schedule. It's just so Trumpian to pretend that nothing has changed. Bizarre.

I personally think Sherry has mental health issues. Ive followed them for years and she has a very manic personality. I think she got too close with Sean the contractor out in Cape Charles, and that was the same summer she was walking all over Cape Charles in nothing but a bikini. Then they went on a trip to Costa Rica in January, and she decided she wanted to live in the tropics. I feel bad for the kids.
