I’m going to say, having been a “street kid”, and having had to use sex for payment, even though I wasn’t a “sex worker”.. those messageswould have gotten me through many days a little more easily.

I used to feel like the world was a grey place, inaccessible to me. I would have said I was fine, believing the whole time I had to do it on my own. I’m still that way, to this day.

There were many days I literally forgot I was a person, and would have likely rejected “real” help, because I didn’t think I was deserving of it. So yeah, a message on a banana, no matter how trite it might seem to someone who has never lived that way, can make an impact. I would have read it, on my own, and realized someone meant it for me. It may have given me a little hope on those really dark days.

You have no idea if it will help, or if it won’t, but it costs nothing more than a few seconds of time.

One PP who cited the one woman who the Sun claimed is a sex worker who hated the gesture, as if that was the consensus. Note, the PP ignored another supposed sex worker who thought of the Meghan's idea as thoughtful in the same article.

As other PPs have said, gestures like this are often all these women can hang onto as they try to move out of the abuse and exploitation. The actual charity where Meghan did this certainly found her gesture to be positive.

It is not hypocritical for MM to try to help sex workers despite marrying someone who has an uncle that has perhaps participated in trafficking. Harry is not his uncle. What is incredibly hypocritical is how the british media treat MM vs PA. Look at the Daily Mail UK home right now. Front and center is coverage of MM and PH's summer holidays and use of private jet. No mention of how PW and KM also took summer vacations on private jets of course. OR how PA took a private jet to Spain last week to emotionally cope with the Epstein coverage. But the biggest splashiest headline is all about MM and PH taking a vacation.
