When a celebrity in person really underwhelms you

Slept with marky mark back in the day. He was impressive in every which way and was PACKING.

Friend of your mom's daughter? Wouldn't that be either your friend or your sister's friend?

I think pp was saying that her mom's friend's daughter worked for Chelsea Clinton.

I can see how Ivanka Trump would be poised, lovely and hardworking. I can also see how Chelsea Clinton might have been a difficult person to work for.

It's Friend of Mom. That person's daughter.

Add to the tiny list: Chris O'Donnell

Had a gig where I picked up Michael J. Fox from National airport - years before he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. He was hungry and wanted some food. I had the car stop near a food place and I asked if he wanted to come in with me. Nah - I was so young & dumb that it took me a minute to realize he wasn't going in to get his sandwich.

I was an extra on set with Russell Crowe when State of Play filmed in DC. He was H-O-T at that time. Boy, he's let himself go down the tubes.

John McCain, DiFi, Chuck Grassley, Amy Klobuchar were gems -+ so smart, could discuss so many different issues at drop off a hat and genuinely thoughtful, kind people.

all these political posts are so biased.

How so? This is the only one that seems more balanced.

Lol at the people googling celebrity heights. Don’t you know the celebrity rules,? add a year for published age (typically female), subtract 2 inches for celebrity height (typically male).

Saw Keira Knightly out with her DD once and she looked very normal and shy. I barely recognised her. Though her jawline really stood out...it’s not as attractive in person as it is on film.

What an odd thing to say when he helped you out. Maybe you're just not used to people with different accents than your own?

Np. This Salman Rushdie description is really interesting to me. OP said he didn't speak, so your accent comment is off the mark. What are you irritated with/offended by?

He didn’t offend me...he did me a solid. It was a super busy train station and I had my kid with me. It was really nice that we helped me out and I was taken about by the intensity of him even though the encounter lasted only a few seconds.

Agreed. She was startling looking and the plastic surgery and brassy hair is not good.

Interesting! I saw her up close (and dressed up) exactly 10 years ago and thought she was stunning. I was taken aback-she eas gorgeous (but again, this was 10 yrs ago)

I saw Daniel Day Lewis at an event once (in a suit no less). He moved like a dancer and commanded the room. He’s also not the largest man but oh so elegant

Sorry. I was responding to the pp who said:
"What an odd thing to say when he helped you out. Maybe you're just not used to people with different accents than your own?" I am wondering why this poster thinks you're saying something "odd" in your account.

He's 6'2". Maybe you saw a look a like shorty?

I used to date the short version of a well known celebrity.

I went to college with a look-alike tiny Brad Pitt.

Schwarzenegger is not 6'2". I've run into him a couple of times, back when he lived (or visited) DC regularly. I'm 5'8", and he was much closer to my height then that. Most of these guys lie and are made to look taller on film. He was huge, though.

I also flew from Bangalore to Frankfurt sitting next to Richard Gere--stood next to him a few times. He's quite a bit smaller than the 5'11" on his bio, too. He was quite nice, but pretty scruffy looking.

Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patty. He was small and she was taller than I would’ve imagined. She had beautiful skin and hair.

DP, fellow former congressional journalist and will add that Warren was weird and terse in evading hallway interviews. Al Franken mostly declined impromptu questions too. He was uptight and not fun to cover at all.
