Another with Sophie and Maxima - Sophie's doing a swell job of cementing strong Dutch-British ties.

I love the way Maxima has styled the bubble gum pink outfit with all-black accessories. Good contrast.

I get Botox and I haven't told a soul about it, lol.

If Kate doesn't want Botox for whatever reason, she could get bangs cut and wear them side swept. I think that could be a good look for her. She has beautiful hair, it's definitely one of her best attributes.

What is up with Sophie's skirt in that photo? She is showing a lot of leg!

Wow!!

She looks amazing!

I love her dress and she knows how to wear a crown so she looks truly regal.

Maxima looks great but she is way older and out of the weeds with little kids.

Way older? Are you sure? Oh well. They look roughly the same age in these photos

No they do not.

Kate looks her age.

This queen does as well.

They look about 10 years apart in age.

Are we looking at the same pictures?

Both ladies look about the same age —- but Máxima definitely looks younger than Kate.

I looked it up because I was curious and was shocked that Maxima is 10 years older! She also has kids so it’s ridiculous to say Kate aged faster because she has children.

Even though they are 10 years apart, the period when your kids are little 0-5 is when the mom looks the worst, irrespective of the age of the mom. Most women try to bounce back when the kids are older, which is where Maxima is at.

Maxima has at least 20 pounds on Kate, maybe more like 30 or 40. She wears it well, I'm NOT saying she is fat or even overweight. Just that the extra body fat fills her face which may explain why she is less lined.

No way, maxima looks older. Kate is similar to my age (I’m a little younger). I look closer to Kate’s age, whereas maxima looks like my older friends. The friends who I am thinking of are 8-10 years older.

To point it out on the photo, it’s something about the cheeks as she smiles. And maturity.

Ladies, can we let ladies mature? We don’t all need to be chasing youth!

I agree with you.

If I saw them out and about, I would say Kate looks like a major's wife and Maxima looks the age of a colonel's wife.

That is based on how they looked dressed up and casually dressed.

Never heard of Queen Maxima before, but I love her style and think she's beautiful!

I usually love Kate's evening dresses, but this one was a stinker.

When it comes to fashion, the Duchess of Cambridge is pretty much always spot on and her wardrobe is the envy of women across the world.

She always manages to look glamorous, regardless of whether she's having at go at sports during official visits or attending the fanciest balls in the world.

But it seems the mum-of-three has made a rare fashion mistake for State Banquet at Buckingham Palace , and fans are baffled by her outfit.

One even labelled the kingfisher blue Alexander McQueen dress as her 'worst ever', and many more are comparing it to something from the 1980s.

Kate teamed the dress with Princess Diana's Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, Collingwood Pearl Drop Earrings and a necklace from Queen Alexandra's Wedding Parure - but the bling still wasn't enough to distract from the dress.

Vogue loves the dress, which I guess proves that I don't have high fashion tastes.

The Sarah Burton for McQueen dress she chose to wear for the occasion was a total showstopper, resembling the silhouette of a classic Disney princess gown.

With its fitted, ruched bodice, the shimmering silver McQueen number was certainly unexpected for the Duchess, marking a new and exciting direction for her personal style. The effect was particularly resplendent when paired with the jewels that she wore—all on loan from the Queen: the Lover’s Knot tiara, previously worn by Middleton in July 2017 to the state dinner when the British royals hosted the Spanish royals, and Queen Alexandra’s wedding necklace. The pearl and diamond drop style piece was first created in 1860 by Garrard and has been worn by both Queen Elizabeth II and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Made out of glass rather than ivory, Middleton’s Royal Family Order brooch was a nice finishing touch.

What is eating at Kate Middleton?

There is no reason someone like her should age as poorly as she is.

They're clear as day and she's only 36. It's not common to be aging as fast as she is, especially when you consider how privileged and cosseted she is and how she has access to the best skin care in the world.

I think you are delusional if you think most 35-40 year old women don't have lines.

All of them do, especially the ones with children.

Kate looks her age.

Most women in this age bracket can’t afford expensive Botox, fillers and peels. Kate can do it’s pathetic she has lines.

She is smarter than those women who get botox.

Those botox women end up looking like frozen plastic monsters after a while.

There is zero reason for for a young, 36 year old to inject herself with botox. She is at the prime of her life.

Age gracefully, not like a science experiment.

+1. I literally don't know anyone who dabbles in fillers, Botox, etc. In my circles of professionals with graduate degrees, I imagine it would be seen as a bit of an unusual choice; some would consider it vain. I personally think "oh well" if someone wants to do it, but I don't get the criticism of those who choose not to, even if they're famous. I wonder who these PPs are, what they do for a living, and how they define themselves.

You probably do know some people who dabble. The thing is, you don't really notice good work. A colleague is not going to notice that someone's eye hollows are looking less deep or that their 11s are slightly less mobile when they make an angry face. Unless you're getting botox to lift your brows or filler to give you a Kylie Jenner pout, these small tweaks aren't really obvious.

PP here. We are in academia/researchers. Not common in these circles. In general we're probably seen as a bit of a dowdy bunch, by external standards. Appearance is not emphasized very much by most; intellectual capabilities and productive research careers are.

Is the point of your post that your group of academia/researches don’t keep up their appearances...so the future queen of England shouldn’t either? Are you a narcissist? I highly doubt there are any similarities between your peer group and one of the most well known women in the world.

I absolutely love this dress. I would wear it in a heartbeat if I could pull it off.

Does Kate smoke or tan? She always seems tan, but I'm not sure if it's a spray on. Both can age you.

I think she and Pippa are both sunworshippers. I was horrified by Pippa's tan at Kate's wedding and how muuch the sun damage aged her. They've both had way too much sun for fair women with lightish eyes.

Definitely used to be a serious tan enthusiast. I think that is less now, but perhaps the damage is done. Kate also smoked but I don't know how heavily.
