Why do white women pick on each other for aging like white women?
Reading this thread makes me laugh because it reminds of my white coworkers. They love to talk about how old Kate looks. We’re all in our late 30s. The funny thing is that they turn around and say I look extremely young, like a teen. I don’t look extremely young for a woman of color though. I look about the same as I did at age 25, which is how I should look at only 37. It’s just that white skin ages so badly that white people think 37 should come with wrinkles, drooping, and laugh lines. No one else looks like that until past 50. |
| Wow (you above), you are seriously demented. Get some help. The anger you harbour is seeping out of your pores. |
Where on Earth do you work that you spend work time talking about how Kate Middleton is aging?? That seems incredibly odd to me. |
Great Clips maybe? |
DP - I think the PPs point is somewhat valid. If you, as a collective, expect all your looks be gone by say...35...it explains a lot of things. Including the collective desire to rush in and marry young in order to 'lock down' a potential husband before they hit 30. Basically making it a mad race between the ages of 23-29. Knowing what genetics tells you, that wrinkles/aged skin/sunburn will hit in the 30s, it makes sense. |
Is there some secret correlation between number of wrinkles or age of onset of wrinkles and marriage rates or success rates? I think not. White women seem to be doing quite well with their marriage rates. Men don't seem to be as concerned with all this petty sniping amongst women over who ages the best or worst. |
PP here. You’re here in a thread about Kate and you think it’s odd others talk about her too? Come off it. Lol! |
PP. Are you sure you’re not the angry one? Name calling usually indicates you’re upset about something. Calm down. Aging prematurely isn’t a crime. It’s just what white skin does. I don’t get why white women call each other out about it when you all look older than your age. |
Gossip website? Jamba Juice? |
I guess everyone in this thread works at Jamba Juice then. Oh, and elitism is not cool. There’s nothing wrong with working at Jamba Juice and using it as an insult (don’t pretend you didn’t mean it that way) is uncouth. |

I don’t think all white skin ages prematurely. Maybe the sun worshipers or hard partiers. Or those who are too thin.
The women in my family do not look anywhere close to their ages. My mom is approaching 70 and could easily pass for 50. And we don’t do anything special to maintain-just over the counter moisturizers and such. |
Humble brag. |
I am completely convinced that this comes down to basic care and then sun. My family is filled with translucently white, blue eyed, natural blondes. Those who sun bathed? A wreck. Sunspots everywhere, wrinkles, etc. Those who shunned the sun and wore sunscreen daily? Awesome actually. |
