Why aren't you considering moving?

Has someone died in the house, dont they need to disclose that at the sale? google your address.

Whether it is a suicide or heinous crime, I don't think this is a requirement to disclose this.

Different states have different laws about this, but generally no, that is not considered a material fact that is necessary to disclose. There are a bunch of threads about this issue in the real estate forum.

Now, more ghost stories!

I'm always curious about "the murder house" in my neighborhood (Woodside Forest, Silver Spring). It's the house where that school principal was murdered a few years back. The people who owned the house previous to him were also murdered -- a double homicide (a father and his young daughter). The house was on the market for a long time and it looks like somebody bought it about six months back. I wonder if the new owners experience anything paranormal -- or if they're familiar with the history of the house.

Lady, can you hear me? I am throwing my popcorn and Twizzlers at you from my crushed velvet seat as you speak. Get out of the house!

And, this is one of the best posts ever.

I firmly believe in ghosts. I'm quite sensitive and can pick up things like this. I was in the Black Shutter Antique Shop in Leesburg and could feel 'something' in a particular area around the third floor, a male presence. I also knew he had been a boarder in the house. I asked the women at the front desk about it and they confirmed that the house had odd things happening. They didn't think it had been a boarding house. Later on, it was confirmed that was indeed the case. I talked to a parapsychologist who specialized in the Leesburg area and said that everything I told him, they had also confirmed. Was going to go with him as a 'reader' to some sites, but his liver cancer recurred and he passed before I got the chance.

I have one friend who I'm extremely sensitive to. So many weird experiences surrounding him, he's told me to make sure that I tell him if I get anything before he gets on a plane. Don't know what that connection is, but it's extremely strong.

I have a story. short one though and probably not that exciting.

Prefacing all of this by saying that DH is/was a complete non-believer (or he was until he started watching Long Island Medium with me).

We had just purchased a home, not an old house. The house was empty, the sellers had just moved out. DH went to the house one Saturday to look around, see how many new outlet covers and door knobs he needed to buy - that kind of thing. He was standing by one of the built-in bookcases when all of the sudden he feels someone light stroke the back of his neck. He was startled, turned around - of course no one was there.

He told me about it right away....but still tried to find a way to rationalize it.
