Jim Jordan accused of overlooking sexual abuse as Ohio State wrestling coach

False. At age 24, I had a 20 year old in my organization report a sexual assault not unlike the Ohio State case to me. I didn’t dismiss it as locker room talk. Instead, I went to my boss and we took action to have the offender removed from contact with the accuser immediately. The same day. Then we followed up with administrative and legal action. Jordan chose a different course of action. He’s not fit to lead and should resign.

especially in the Big Ten. Those are the toughest wrestlers in the country and often do MMA after college. That doctor would have ended up snapped in half.

Physical strength is not the only thing that matters in a situation of abuse.

Mental strength also does. When you have someone in a position of power over you, like an adult doctor and student patients, then it's not just a matter of "snapping" him in half if he does something inappropriate. It's hard for most people to speak up against authority.

It's disgusting that you all are claiming 5 people are lying and your excuse is they should have fought their way out of it.

Wrestlers are mentally tough. They are hardly shrinking violets. Plus they run their hands all over other men each and every day in practice.

This is a money grab class action lawsuit scheme .

And in the showers and doctors office too. Jordan was and is a lying coward.

Are you sure all these victims were in the 200 lb weight class? Weight classes in that division start at 125.

I wrestled in college. A 125 lb adult big ten wrestler can kill somebody easily. And the lethality goes up from there.

Oh please. That’s the size of a middle schooler. These wrestlers can’t hold their own against larger people; That’s why they have weight classes. Very few college men are tiny enough to wrestle.

They most certainly can. A 125 lb big ten wrestler can take down and literally anihilate much larger men not trained in fighting.

Stop the damn victim blaming! Jordan knew and it was his duty to report. He is a POS who condoned what was going on.

OSU is the entity that hired a lawyer firm to investigate. Get a clue.

It's not a question of physical ability. The doctor was an authority figure whose word could influence whether you got to wrestle or not. If he blackballed you, your scholarship (if any) would be at risk. What do you think would happen if one of these kids punched the doctor? They would be on the next bus home.

125 lbs LOL. The average American 20 year old male is 195 lbs and 5’9. American 15 year olds average 145 lbs. A male weighing in at 125 is going to be around 5’3.” That’s too small to participate in any real sport, so they wrestle. Sexual predators seem to be attracted to the sport. All these stories are from this year and there are lots more. The sport seems to tolerate sexual assault at a large scale.

This case involves a pudgy Doctor and adult wrestlers in the most elite conference in the country. The toughest fighters in the country.

It's either consentual or bs.

Still not understanding the power dynamic that permits sexual assault?. Is not about physical strength. It’s true the Big 10 or 11 or 13 or whatever it’s is does seems to have more problems than other conferences. Fortunately, most Americans do understand the power dynamic, even if Jim Jordan claims not to.

In the other thread the mod conveniently locked, a local newspaper was cited that the doctor worked in at least 8 different teams, student service center, and medical center. Dailymail reported the doctor probably worked at 14 different teams. Jordan was just a young man fresh out of college when the alleged abuse took place. There were probably hundreds above his pay grade - head coaches, athletic directors, university presidents, medical center directors, etc - who would be more responsible for this sort of allegations.

So why picking on Jordan? The other thread "Jordan destroys Comey" started in 2016 hit the nail on the head. Jordan has been a champion for justice. He called out Comey before the election in 2016. He called out Rosenstein last week. He is a thorn in the corrupt media and their support politicans.

Even if he were a 22 year old college graduate, he knows better. Why is it that 15 year old AA males are called thugs, byt 22 year old white college graduates are 'young men?" I mean, even Jared Kushner was recently referred to as a kid, as it pertained to his alleged crimes.

When I was 22 and fresh out of college, I knew better.

You may not like Jordan, but “cowardly” is not a word most would use to describe him.

DP. I don't like Jordan, but at this point, cowardly is probably the kindest word that can describe his behavior. It's that bad.

No, it really isn’t.
He has stated he had no knowledge of any abuse. Several wrestlers have publicly made comments standing behind him, and the ONE person who said he approached Jordan with allegations and someone witnessed this interaction ---- well, surprise, surprise - that person has served time in prison for fraud. Oh, and that witness? He denied witnessing any such interaction.
It’s a bunch of baloney.

I guess you missed his interview on FOX last night where he admitted he knew but ignored it.

And often times, victims of abuse go on to abuse alochol and have issues because of the trauma they received. So you are scapegoating a victim for something that is a likely a direct result of the issues at hand.

Knew better?
WTH are you talking about?
If he didn’t KNOW about the alleged abuse, how could he “know better?”

Blame the victim. I guess he was asking for it because he was wearing a singlet.
