Jim Jordan accused of overlooking sexual abuse as Ohio State wrestling coach

Anonymous
Six MORE wrestlers have come forward. FOURTEEN total who say Jordan must have known.

“Tito Vazquez says he still remembers the day three decades ago when, as a wrestler at Ohio State University, the doctor he'd gone to see about a bloody nose insisted on examining his genitals. He also recalls how one of his coaches dismissed his immediate complaint.

"'I have nothing to do with this,'" Vazquez quoted the assistant coach saying, as he effectively ended the conversation and went on with wrestling practice.

That coach, Vazquez says, was Jim Jordan, now an Ohio congressman and an influential voice in Republican politics, perhaps best known for his pugnacious defense of President Donald Trump during the recent impeachment proceedings.”

Jim Jordan is ok with sexual assault apparently. Sad!

Betsy DeVos just made it fine and dandy for every Jim Jordan of the future to be totally OK with sexual assault.
“The U.S. Department of Education, led by education secretary Betsy DeVos, announced new Title IX federal regulations that change requirements on who must report sexual assault allegations and how institutions respond to those complaints.

The adjustments, outlined in a 2,033-page document and set to go into effect Aug. 14, no longer require coaches and other employees at colleges and universities to report allegations to the Title IX office.”

Interesting that you find an old thread like this and revive it at this time.

The news has been pretty bad for the left in the past couple days.

And, this is what pp left out of her article citation:

The new regulations drop the mandatory reporters guidance for coaches and athletic trainers, instead requiring reports to be made to the Title IX coordinator or an official with “authority to institute corrective measures.”

The old Title iX regulations were ridiculous.

Somehow, I don't get the idea that Clooney is going to be playing Rep. Jordan in this. I also don't get the idea that Jordan will come out of this looking very good.

Clooney is far too good looking to play Jordan. I think someone like Jim Varney would be a better choice but unfortunately he's dead. Jordan really does look like him IMO.

+1 Clooney is behind the camera way more often than he is in front of it.

Gym Jordan will sadly be in Congress as long as he wants to be, but I hope this at least stresses him out.

Ohio State trying to make this go away.
SCOTUS admirably says no way.

“WASHINGTON, June 26 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected Ohio State University's bid to dismiss lawsuits brought by alleged sexual abuse victims of a now-deceased doctor who was employed by the school's athletic department and medical staff for nearly two decades.

The justices turned away Ohio State's appeal of a lower court's ruling that allowed the litigation to proceed despite having been brought decades after the abuse by Richard Strauss, which occurred from 1978 to 1998, the year he retired from the faculty. Strauss died by suicide in 2005.”

Looks like Trump's bootlicker-in-chief is not out of the woods according to the SC. Let's see if justice plays out.
