What happened to stars lacrosse this weekend?? Pride definitely came out ahead. Curious why you all think Stars is better?? Chesapeake Invitational results are very telling.

that doesn't look to be the correct link - it is actually this: https://admin.tourneymachine.com/Public/Results/Tournament.aspx?IDTournament=h201810121453138567afd5c7bdb6f42

| For what age group? |
| Can we please let the Stars v Pride nonsense die already? Neither Club can beat the top MD teams! Move on. |

Yes, this Pride vs Stars nonsense needs to stop. Not sure what point the previous poster on the Chesapeake Invitational was trying to make? When I look at Tourney Machine what I see is:
2025- Pride beat Stars head-to-head 2024- Stars beat Pride head-to-head 2023- Pride played their top team down in the "B" division against middle-tier clubs and "B" teams, while Stars played in the "A" division against some of the best clubs in Maryland and New York. If the poster was trying show that Pride was ready to challenge for the title in the Carroll County rec league, I guess they made their point, but beyond that, I don't know.

I'm with the previous poster. Not sure what the point the original poster was trying to make on the tournament. May be helpful if you clarify. Head to head one age group from each program won a game. Seems pretty straight forward and certainly not an outcome one could draw any conclusion from about either program.
If the comment was about the 2023s the original poster only demonstrated she/he is not familiar with the strength of the teams in the tournament. Stars played in the elite division against some really good NY and MD teams. Pride played in the B division against some really bad teams that had no business being in this tournament. As the previous poster commented the B division looked more like a rec league gathering looking at the link provided. For an invitation event I'm surprised to see such a wide discrepancy among the talent level in the two divisions. I'm not sure which is worse, getting trounced by superior teams or beating inferior teams. But if you win there's a saying in sports, "act like you've been there before." If you don't it only suggests you haven't. Bottom line is neither program is at the level of the LI or MD teams. Both teams more than likely would have had similar outcomes if the roles were reversed this weekend. |
| Pride red 2023 is supposed to be the best team in the area. Why are they playing in a lower division? |
| Didn’t Pride 2023 Red beat Stars 2023 Blue this past summer? I seem to recall. The fact is that there are atleast three great clubs in the area now! MC Elite has some great teams. There MC Elite 2022 is the best in the area. No matter what choice you make in a club, you can’t go wrong in DC. I say just go play with your friends and have fun. All programs will provide a great experience. You aren’t playing for the National Championship. |
| That MC ELite 22 team is real solid. They took care of business against M&D 22 last year on multiple occasions. |
I don’t think so...what tournament? |
The Pride 2023 Red team has beaten some of the big Maryland teams-- A teams. I don't think Pride purposefully played down into the B bracket, but the tournament organizers put them there based on performance in past years when the team was not as good. |
Check the Mid Atlantic showcase 2017. Read em and weep. |
| Stars is half the program that Pride has become. Best days are in the rear view mirror |
I agree with this statement sadly, and am a Stars parent. We are probably going to try out for multiple programs next summer and see where we land. We are not unique in this opinion. |
| I’m a Stars parent and I must say that I am disappointed. I don’t like having a parent coach, especially one who never played lacrosse himself, and then watched the team get absolutely blown out this Fall. I thought Blue was supposed to be good. My mistake for doing early tryouts, all the good players clearly waited |
