ASA????

MYS/ASA? been there tried that; MYS has nightmare cultural problems.
ASA ECNL? ECNL becomes CCL; money grab with same clubs back playing each other; takes the "elite" out of Elite Clubs National League.
ASA U13 Pilot? Don't tease; money grab for one year and back to Red.
ASA FULL DA? ding, ding, ding; Surprise! Attract players from two nearby ECNL clubs and others; cut out the local Red team fat; and give WS a run for local player pool and the money(grab).

USSDA could snuff out ECNL with an ASA franchise.

Problem: no fields for 4x weekly training

Not the surprise I am expecting....but it could happen...........

If ASA you are talking about, there is only one late option that could be brokered:

ASA/Spirit

Depending on terms, it could be better then its own Full DA.

Next DC Stoddert and LMVSC would go ECNL. More cost to ASA families for same competition, same coaching (clubs control unlike DA), same local player pool of average Red teamers, etc.

Not sure that makes for a surprise you want.

What ever the surprise is, and I’m sure folks think it’ll matter but it won’t. If it’s a DA team that couldn’t perform going ECNL or if it’s a club finally getting “elite” status. It doesn’t matter. As far as this area goes it’ll be the same old same old. Folks find your kid some extra training. Bottom line.

Naw she did. But I'm not much of a hugger.

I just do not understand the secrecy. Give people the info, let them make their choice where they want to tryout and accept should they receive an offer. Instead they create hype knowing full well this area cannot support that many teams. Until then find some extra training.

I could see a WS rebranding as Washington Spirit-Arlington DA (much like Washington Spirit-Baltimore Armour DA). What would suck, though is the player contraction at the existing team levels. Basically you have two full rosters of girls, the current Spirit girls and the current Arlington girls, vying for spots. --and no home club to go back to for the current Spirit girls if they lose out to the Arlington players.

I can't tell if this is a joke or not, but I'll respond as if you're serious.

There has been no official word on Arlington getting the girls DA. What there has been is an announcement from ECNL that Loudoun has gotten into that league, and then some dumba$$ made the idiotic leap of logic that since ECNL made an announcement but there was no announcement about Arlington from US Soccer, then obviously Arlington didn't get DA.

At this time, we do not know whether Arlington is getting a girls DA because US Soccer has not made ANY announcements about new clubs yet. http://www.ussoccerda.com/story-archive
Personally, I don't think there's a chance in heck that Arlington would get GA, but until we hear that some clubs have been added to the girls DA and Arlington isn't on that list, it's all speculation, uninformed at that.

Given the recent discussion of WS already sending out info, how would that partnership happen this year. I mean i know anything is possible, but wouldnt it be more likely not to happen unless they had not sent out that info.

Wow! Who said ANYTHING about WS and Arlington?

Nobody, that's who.

A week ago I would have said you are right. I actually think Arlington stands a good chance (and no I am not an Arlington parent -- my daughter plays DA/ECNL already).
