My MIL tried this shot with my SIL. My SIL relented and said she could be there but only if she promised to leave if SIL changed her mind. Well at some point in the process, of the almost 20 hour labor, SIL did change hermind. And MIL refused to leave. She threw a temper tantrum, and had to be removed by the nurses. She then sat downstairs in the lobby and called my brother in law over and over again until he had to turn off his phone, which put him out of touch with his wife's relatives. So I'm just saying, promises sometimes aren't worth the air they're made with. Keep that in mind

OP if it makes you feel any better, my MIL had her own FIL deliver DH. So my DH's grandfather, who was an OBGYN, delivered him and his sister. So at least it isn't your FIL delivering your baby.
I can't even. |
What the actual f*ck. I have to imagine that did some permanent damage to the relationship. |
Maybe it wasn't so bad, since he's seen thousands of ladybits, so ho-hum. Still, when it's someone that close. My Asian in-laws all go to doctors who are related to the family or are close friends. It doesn't seem to phase them. "Scoot down, Auntie, and let your legs fall open. Great. Okay, see you Sunday at dinner." |
