Has anyone ever met a celebrity?

I was out of town so missed it, but my mom took DS to a birthday party where one of the Beach Boys was in attendance. It really meant a lot to her to get to meet him.

Oh, no I totally should have told the story like I used to. How he leaned in and smiled, saying with a little wink "let me get this for you" and kept making eye contact and smiling at me, kinda lingering around where I was putting creamer in.

Gristedes? Sounds like you lived in the same town as my dad. He worked there, too, when he was in high school. He delivered groceries for Paul and Joanne several times. My dad has met tons of celebrities - too many to list here.

As for me, I've met Danny Devito. I was 6 or 7 and he was in Hawaii filming Throw Mama from the Train. He was very nice to me and took a picture with me. It's funny that in the picture we are almost the same height, even though I was only seven at the time.

The store was called "Hay Day" in Westport.

DH's cousin had a license plate that said WHATEVR. David Spade approached her in a parking lot and complimented her on it.

Hung out with the drummer from Wilco (not a fan of the band, personally, but he was super nice) also went to school with the drummer from Smashing Pumpkins.

When I was in college I worked at a high end department store so have "met" (rather, rang up) Meg Ryan, Malcolm McDowell, David Schwimmer and Loretta Swit

I met Kristin Chenoweth on the train to NYC from DC. We were seated near each other. She was incredibly warm, friendly and beautiful in person. I loved her before I met her and now love her even more.

I sat next to several of them at plays, met some at parties, sat with a couple on airplanes and talked to them. Met Mick and Keith after a concert back in the day. Can you tell I am an older DCUM reader?? All were nice. None of them were jerks in anyway.

You need to tell us what Mick and Keith said and did. How did they look? TY!

I remember the 3rd. Not as big a star in all circles but I met James Brown (aka. JB), the sportscaster. We shared a redcap after a late Sunday night train from NYC to DC. We chatted the whole ride to the taxi line. He was so polite and really just a nice, old fashioned gentleman.

Other than the actors I went to HS with (so doesn't really count since they weren't famous then) it seems all my celebrity meetings are transportation related.

Of course, "it counts" if you knew them in HS before they were famous....

I've met JB and interacted with him for work. Salt of the earth and very genuine, nice, and well-mannered. Just a true gentleman.

One of my best friends since college is a famous (in her field) movie critic/writer, she attends all the festivals around the world and has interviewed absolutely everyone you can imagine. Of all the hundreds, if not thousands of celebrities she's met, she said the nicest are Bill Murray and David Hasselhoff(weird, I know, but she said he was so funny, and kind and took the time to talk with her for a bit while, they met at Cannes and two years later she saw him there again, he remembered her name and came over to talk). But Bill Murray was exactly like everyone has reported, funny, cool, nice, generous, etc.

The pictures she texts me are hilarious. I mean she really has met every single person you can imagine.

Met Kathie Lee Gifford at Restaurant Daniel NYC Ladies Room. She was hysterical and real nice. She was adjusting her panty hose and chatting away. A pleasure to meet her.
