Inspired teaching question

Well, the good news is, your child's school isn't likely to be disrupted by a visit from the President of the United States ever again. Thank goodness that nightmare is over!

Not at either school, but didn't Lee open on time this year while ITS was delayed for a week?

Nope.

Thanks for belittling the trouble Lee parents had scrambling for child care/time off. Appreciate it.

The point is that this is a once in a lifetime inconvenience. However, you will probably have to scramble for child care with much less notice than two days at some point in the future if your child ever gets sick or there are closures for snow or other unforeseen circumstances. It does happen, and parents need to figure out how to make it work.

I get the point. I've been scrambling for child care with much less notice for quite a while, for all the reasons you were so kind and worldly to mention, so I'm very glad you seem to show some base level of understanding (at least on some level).

However, this wasn't unforeseen (at least to those planning it), it was rude (because we weren't told the whole story), and it was an pretty significant unplanned, last-minute inconvenience (one that cost me and all Lee families money out of our pockets, which is -- at least for me -- tight these days). Please take your patronizing tone and impose it on some other poor sucker who might actually fall for it.

Chris sent out a super apologetic e-mail- looks like his hands were tied by the Secret Service.

Lee parents, what does any of this have to do with ITS? If you are so upset by the early closure, then you should talk with your admin! Why blame ITS parents? That seems ridiculous and very petty.

I don't think anyone is blaming ITS parents. But when an ITS parent comes on and tells Lee parents how LUCKY they are to be there, well… it's not a great look for ITS parents.

I don't have kids at either school FWIW.

ITS parent here. That was an unfortunate email from one parent. I doubt that many (or any) others feel the same.

However, the tone of the Lee parents was clearly negative towards ITS. That parent was defensive and responded as such.

I wish both parents could have thought about their words more before posting. There are clearly VALID points on both sides but we all need to use empathy. That would go along way in being good partners.

Folks, President Obama and First Lady are NOT at Inspired Teaching to highlight the playground. They are using the BUILDING to stuff backpacks for homeless children. They may be using Lee, who knows? If so, then maybe Lee has been inconveniencing Inspired Teaching.

And ah, the potential irony...

IT parent here. Trust is we are just as much in the dark as you guys are. Agree with earlier sentiments, let's agree that it was unfortunate.

If this is the case, I hope they pass along the quinoa.
