Was thinking the same thing! ... and how expensive PGS/PGD would be if going that route! |
|
PCOS , I was 31, 20 follicles only 9 eggs retrieved, 5 fertilized, 4 embryos barely good enough to be transferred, 2 frozen, 2 transferred, 2 originally implanted, one happy baby. |
|
I was 40 and had six follicles, six mature eggs retrieved, five fertilized, three made it to day 5, two transferred (twins!) and one frozen.
It's a quality game and I wouldn't have truly believed that until my cycle. I was so heartbroken when I found out only six eggs were retrieved and was sure that nothing would come of the cycle. I now have two wonderful babies in my life. |
| Hi pp. What type of dosing were you on, if u don't mind sharing? |

40 years old
1st IVF cycle with Lupron, low dose hcg, follistim, and novarel trigger 7 eggs retrieved 5 were mature 4 fertilized normally Dr. recommended 3 day transfer instead of PGD at 5 day as planned our clinic uses a 0-8 grading scale: we had one grade 7, two grade 6, and one grade 5 - they said all were 7 cell they indicated the 7 & 6s were good and the 5 fair Dr. said 8 is the highest grade and they see very few of those (wondering if he means for my age?) embryologist said it was good that a couple of them were already compacting but she also mentioned she has seen grade 8s that don't take and grade 0s that did both Drs. involved that day recommended transferring all 4, we were a little nervous about doing that but both of them as well as both nurses and the embryologist indicated they have not had a case where someone my age that did transfer all 4 had all of them take so now we're in the dreaded 2WW and hoping this turns out well |
Would you mind sharing which clinic you were cycling at? My RE was dead set against a day 3 transfer, because the clinic doesn't do them much (SGF) and also only transfered 2 out of 4 that fertilized normally on Day 5. They were all 8 cell on day 3. The other two didn't make it to freezing. In 2ww now and considering switching clinics. |
