Not sure OP could manage a Harlequin romance, so she has to bring her fantasy to DCUM. Honestly, an "unmarried" architect is probably gay or bi and was playing for for the job. He knew dumb when he saw it. If she tries to cancel the contract, I bet he goes to the husband (who clearly has the power in the relationship) and will persuade him to proceed. Then our OP has to put up with him. I hope the architect brings his boyfriend to the housewarming to further embarrass OP.

OP, sorry, but you need to exercise your imagination more, since your story is way too cliché. Even Lifetime movies are more elaborate that that these days..
