Can I throw my dog poo in your trash?

Anonymous
I love how this thread gets resurrected every so often. Reminds me how some people are worse than the shit from their dogs.muse your own damn trash.

It's a trash can. So long as it's bagged, feel free to deposit in my trash can.

Lighten up folks. It's a friggin trash can. You put things that are as disgusting as bagged poo in it.

Get a life.

You are saying this only because you do this to other people.

No. Do not throw your dog poop in my trash can. I will dump it smack in the middle of your driveway otherwise. Moron!

I would not mind if the trash collectors emptied the trash can by dumping over the can. In my neighborhood, the contract with the trash collectors only requires them to remove closed garbage bags from the cans. As a result, she you use my trash can I have to remove your bag from my can and put it into another bag of trash. I would rather you just leave the poop on my grass.

As a dog owner, I never really thought about this because my dog shits in the wooded area of our large fenced backyard and we rarely actually walk him, we just exercise and play in the backyard. But if someone tossed their dog's poop in my trash can, I certainly wouldn't be out for blood, but would be happier than if they didn't pick it up at all.

For the record, if you live in Fairfax County, the trash and recycling cans actually say "Property of Fairfax County" or something or another so those of you who's panties are in a bunch because you think your trash can is higher and mightier than the rest of us and is "your property," you're an idiot.

Get over yourselves, oh lazy ones. Bring it home and be (GASP!) considerate of others. I am not spending my $5000. an hour billable hours cleaning up after you, nor paying anyone to do so - but I would be MORE THAN happy to send a video of what you did to the county so you can be fined by mail!

Someone has been doing this at my house/trash can.

Perhaps they don't realize that the garbage collectors grab the big garbage bag out of my trash bin and the dog poop bag (being so small) falls to the bottom (and is left in the trash bin). Then we roll the bin into our garage and find that the stink is someone's dog poop --- and we don't have a dog.

It's beyond rude to use someone else's trash can for your dog's poop. Put it in your own trash can. It's baffling to me that anyone thinks it is o.k. to do this.
No, sweetheart, it is not "beyond rude" to use your trash can. It's totally ok. If you don't like it, do as a PP suggests and lock them up.
Ok you sound pretty condescending with your "sweetheart" comment. It's not o.k. to leave poop in my trash can. And No, I can't "lock them up" b/c it only happens when my trash bin is set out for the garbage collector to take the trash (but as I stated, the small poop bags fall to the bottom). Otherwise, my trash bins are "locked up" in my garage. My trash bin on my property is not for general public use.
Do you eat on it? in it? Does it sit in your living room? Do you use it as part of your decor? It's a trash can. I GUARANTEE it you wouldn't notice the poo was in it if you were not looking for it. Tied up bags of poo don't smell. I smell the food I throw out (due to septic we don't use the garbage disposal) more than anything else. (and spare me about the small bags falling to the bottom, I have had two large dogs and over ten years have never had a problem with the bags falling out or whatever it is you are alleging).

It's a trash can. This is trash. I'm not walking into your home to toss my trash.

I find some of your obsessions with your trash cans, your propriety area interest in them, and what goes in it to be more than a little strange. And resulting to "asshole" and name calling is more rude than your accusation.
I like how you think when they are tied up they do not smell. Obviously you do not have the same dog walkers as I do in my neighborhood.

They seem to wait til the trash has been taken out and dump their waste in my can before I am able to return home from work. Inevitably the bag breaks. We do not eat out of the can but it is an awful smell that I have to endure every time I take out the trash. Why should I clean this mess up? Take it back to your house. I pay for the service not anyone else.

Funny some one mentioned septic. We have septic and the big republic services can. 1/2 full bags fall to the bottom and don't get dumped. If you have septic you have a large property - minimum 1 acre so who is coming up the driveway to dump a poo bag?

Most people on large properties shovel it to an unused area and put lime on it. Or have a small metal can lined with 2 bags and shovel it into that.

It actually stinks up the inside of my trash can - forever! so please DON'T drop Your dog's poo in another person's trash can!

It's no big deal to put it in the nearest trash can and better than leaving it on the lawn or sidewalk.

Plus a million. I'm doing people a favor by not leaving it in their yard.

I push a stroller with one hand and hold my dog's leash with the other and if the dog craps on our 3-5 mile walk, I still manage to carry the bag all the way home with me and discard in my own can. Shit smells, especially in the summer, and it's obnoxious to dump it wherever you please.

for the stupid person that asked if you eat on the garbage can. I do not eat on my garbage can but I do not want it to stink. You said that tied up bags of poo don't smell, probably you are accustomed to it and you stink too!!
